Floor and Carpet V210
 

I have a 2004 Sanger V210, i just replaced the carpet and wood in the bow floor this weekend. we wont be able to get on the water next week so I figured I would knock out the rest of the floor next week. the locker carpet is as good as new so I wont be pulling that out, just doing the exposed flooring. Have any of you Sanger owners completed this project and what advice would you give me. I anticipate having to seal the floor or replace it with newer wood. The new carpet is a nice soft 32oz. Thanks for any help.

Why would the floor need to be replaced in a 2004 model? If it was me I would just do a carpet saver type overlay on top of the existing carpet. That way you can take it out for cleaning if you like.

David - i have a 2005 sanger. How do you get the bow piece up?

I don't think I will have to replace it, I just wanted to know if any one has had to replace it or done the job in case. I do not know what it looks likes under the carpet.

To remove the strip of flooring in the bow, remove the carpet from the wood. I just cut a line down the center. Then you have to remove four screws that run down the middle of the wood into the fiberglass floor.

What advice do you need. I re carpeted my v210 last season.

Are you replacing wood as a precautionary or is it bad? That wood should not be rotten and should be warranted if it is. The wood that is used holds a lifetime warranty and, my understanding is, Sanger has never had a case of rot with the Aqua Beam they are using now. I believe the entire line was switched to Aqua Beam in the early 2000's. If you are replacing it as a precautionary move, I would contact the factory first to find out if the wood in your boat is 100% Aqua Beam. If it is, and you replaced wood with someone else, you used an inferior product. You can connect with the factory at sales@sangerboats.com.

Did you remove all the seat bases when you replaced the carpet or did you just loosen the screws and slip it underneath the bases

I don't anticipate having to replace the wood, I wanted to know if anyone has had to replace it in their Sanger. I thought that Sanger put a lifetime warranty on the floor, which had me assuming it would be in fair shape. I haven't done the carpet yet but I plan to lift the seat bases up just cut the old carpet a few inches behind the bases and run the new carpet under the bases so the new seam is hidden. I plan to tackle it this week. I will upload pics of the wood and see what you guys think of it. The only thing that concerns me is a rotten smell coming from under the drivers area when it gets wet. I hope it is just mildew in the carpet,not the wood.

Mines a 97 and I replaced it as it was worn and stained. It just tore out and I made cuts on the sides so only the floor was removed.

The wood on my boat was fine with no issues whatsoever. I can't talk about the later models but I removed all seats to just leave a bare floor. Stapled and glued and it was all done.

So I ended up removing the seats and base. After looking around I figured it would be easier to lay the carpet and get in to look cleaner by removing everything. It only took me about an hour removing everything. Ill be putting the carpet in this week. I took some pics of the removal, ill upload them later.
