Looking at buying a Calabria Cal-Air. Pros and cons? Rider experiences? hows the ski wake? Hows the board wake, and surf wake?
We have 2003 Cal Air, and love it. We waterski first every day and then spend the rest of the day boarding, and while not a tournament ski boat it has a small wake sor skiing, then while not a pro level wake for boarding with the Pure Vert full it gives us plenty. We have not extra added ballast, but I have been told the wake gets even better with some extra. Travis, Phaeton on this board, has plenty of experience with Calabria, and he might add some comments. I have not tried Surfing behind it, but you should be able to fill up one side of the Pure Vert which will help. The boat handles incredbily, and have had no problems with the engine (Mercruiser 350, 315hp). It has good amount of storage, we love the Boss Tower it came with, and fit and finish is good. What has taken me a few times to get use to is the nose down of the boat, which makes other boat wakes a challenge until you get the hang of, which my wife has doen much better than me, guess I am always riding and not driving Also, the people at Calabria in California are great to work with, if you need anything. My profile has a pic of our Cal Air. Hope this helps.

dg
