If you have his info, maybe check into filing a claim in small claims court. If you serve him with the paperwork PRIOR to filing the claim with the court, it might actually startle him enough into paying the money back or sending the board and you wouldn't really have to go to court. Good luck.

Is your paypal funded by credit card or by bank account? If by credit card, call them and have a chargeback done. If by bank account, call your bank and see what they can do. Sometimes they can get involved and help. If that wont help, call his local police dept. All you really need is his address. Explain the situation to them, file a case and go from there.

How to not be scammed:

Order your board through Boardstop.com. :-)

Sorry that you got scammed man.

kklupenger 04-18-2007 10:28 AM

I second going through your credit card company.
It is amazing (and a little scary) what they can do at your request.

wake_to_wake_jake 04-18-2007 11:42 AM

Forget the legal stuff. Where does this kid live? Let's go get your board before summer is over.

metz213 04-18-2007 2:38 PM

Ya i paid with credit and they are trying to do something about it but i dont know what will happen...don't know his address or anything like that i would like to find out and call his police station tho

Jacob- as soon i figure out the location lets go to work lol

Chargebacks are great. The seller will have to provide proof that the item was delivered. Usually you only have 60 days from the date of the charge to do a chargeback, so do it quick!

-Dan

jrogers26 04-18-2007 10:11 PM

dude, didn't CWB give you a new board??

metz213 04-19-2007 12:19 PM

Jordan- no that wasn't me, it was the another kid on here who got scammed just like I did..pretty similar situations..I tried to purchase the 06 Premier...would be nice if Hyperlite sent me one tho

jrogers26 04-19-2007 1:55 PM

oh. wow. well, you're gonna have to make your story better

the other kid was young and saved up money all summer mowing lawns or something...much more of a heart warming story. try that approach!

metz213 04-19-2007 7:05 PM

well im only 16 and work in a horrible restaraunt as a severer and it is miserable.. i hate my job but i have to stay with it until somehow i find a better job so im having to stick it out and save up my 1's that i get to pay for my guzzling suv's gas and to buy gear for the summer...maybe not as good as the other kid but i think it is

wakegenie 04-19-2007 8:08 PM

Add how much you paid, and don't you make less than minimum wage because you’re a waiter, put all that in the story too

it's not fair to you though, I offered that kid money so I will offer you too, PM or IM me or email me or something if you want to take me up on the offer, I have to warn you it won't be that much (I'm also 16, you know how it is) but fair is fair...

The only reason I'm telling you to pm or Im or email...me is cause I figured you would't want to post your address, but I guess if you don't mind...go ahead

tparider 04-20-2007 8:25 AM

IF you paid by credit card on Paypal, just call your CC company and tell them you want to dispute the charges. I've done it on a couple of eBay transactions gone wrong and it has worked out great both times.

metz213 04-20-2007 1:30 PM

ya i make about 3.00$ and hour...half which goes to taxes and the customers hardly tip too...I did pay by credit card and it has even been a while since they have contacted us so they are barely helping at all

board2death 04-20-2007 2:08 PM

Sorry 'bout your misfortune Matt.
Welcome to the real world. We all hate our jobs, are overworked and underpaid. BTW, if you only make $3.00 an hour how'd you get the credit card and SUV???

wkbrdr 04-20-2007 7:31 PM

contact your credit card company...

ajcsurf 04-20-2007 10:21 PM

small claims court ..... www.ezlegalfile.com Step by step instructions and all you do is fill them out and then take them to the office at the local county court house... good luck.
