I found a new kind of wakeskating. In a recent trip to Lake Mead, NV me and a bunch of friends decided to try getting up on a skim board just for kicks. Not only did we get up, but it was the raddest ride ever. Unlike a wakeskate, the skimboard just glided on the water, much like the old kneeboards. I was able to bust a 720 (on the water) my first time up. My buddy pulled a pop shove it his second time up. I recommend that if you have a skimboard give it a shot, I think you will be pleased. The only downfall is the wake, it is hard to get back in the wake because if any water goes over the nose it will pull the board down, but other then that I think this is my new favorite thing. my friends and i tried wake surfing with a skimboard(not wood) its about 31/2 feet but it didnt work to good.... what were we doing wrong. we had like 700# and 3 ppl on 1 side and gonig about 10mph.

a thin board that you use to skim across the wet sand after a wave hits shore

when I was going I was pulled at like 16mph. If you wanna actually surf the wake you probably want to go a little slower. If you go fast you just glide on the water and you can't really carve well, but you can do spins on the water and flip tricks. When I was pulled at like 10mph it felt wrong to me. If you wanna try doing spins and stuff I recommend that you try going faster and it may be easier with a smaller wake. I did it behind a jet ski most of the time.

me and friends are going to start skimboarding off the boatdock. -Heres my idea- using a wakeskate, run as fast as i can down the dock with the skate in my hand then jumping off the end and putting the skate underneath my feet and landing then doing a flip trick or hit an oncoming wave. I'll tell you how it works when i finish my skate

i tried skimboarding behind a truck. now thats fun. all you need is a long enough rope where you can direct yourself instead of the truck directing you. i got up to 28 mph. just one suggestion. do not try tricks going that fast.

i tried this last summer up at the lake. brought the skimboards and got up frist time. i havent yet wakeskated, but skimming was a blast. you gotta be careful about the nose dipping, and the board hitting you cuz its really squirrely, but surface tricks are like nothing you can spin till you fall over dizzy
