Ok I did my first tube shot the other day and I was having all sorts of problems with water on the lens housing (obviously) I was just wondering if there is anything to put on it to make it not stay on the housing and bead off without ruining image quality?

If you can't get a squeegee on it try spiting on it then re-wet and the water will sheen off.

Get a squeegee. Like $3.00 at walgreens

I don't think the squeegee will work on a EWA bag.

you could get a squeegee on the lens port, couldn't you?

also, apply rain-x on the lens port each time before you go out.

Walt 08-18-2008 2:50 PM

The lens port on a EWA bag has a outer ring around it so you can't swipe it with a squeegee.

dakid 08-18-2008 3:20 PM

you can get mini squeegees.

Walt 08-18-2008 3:22 PM

It wouldn't matter because you can't push the water past the outer ring.

dakid 08-18-2008 3:25 PM

ah, gotcha!

dubitup20i 08-18-2008 3:46 PM

ya i thought about the squeegee i'll have to pick one up and i'll give rain x a try too.
It is an EWA bag, worked ok for the price anyways. camera was dry so thats the good part.

Has anyone tried to put rain-x on an Epic video camera housing? If so, how well did it work?
