I am thinking about trading my X-2 for an LSV. I was wanting to know if anyone has had any problems with theirs. OWNERS ONLY PLEASE. I know I will probably get bashed for this, but how is the wake at 34-36mph? Thanks for the info in advance.

Also, the price tag on it was $47K. With illusion tower and hammerhead engine. Does that sound about right. It is an '04

We love our 04 ws lsv, lots of room, great wake, check out www.malibuboatowners.com alot of good information. A lsv would be a big upgrade from a x-2 if that is what you are looking to do. No problems with ours.

Thanks for the info.

What are you running 34-36 mph for?

psudy 07-26-2004 10:15 AM

I like to ski.

Which LSV?

Sunscape 21 LSV
Sunscape 23 LSV
Sunscape 25 LSV

Wakesetter 23 LSV
Wakesetter 25 LSV

???

The 21 LSV has probably the best slalom wake of any vdrive out there. The Wakesetter 25 LSV probably the worst... It would help if we knew which model you are looking at.

evil_e 07-26-2004 12:46 PM

The current Wakesetter LSV only comes as a 23 footer, no 25 footer...

aneal000 07-27-2004 6:11 AM

Acutally you can get the 25 LSV with the Wakesetter package... therefore creating the Wakesetter 25 LSV, even though it's not listed on Malibu's website it is availble.

evil_e 07-27-2004 8:07 AM

Huh, didn't know that...cool.

psudy 07-27-2004 10:18 AM

Sorry, Wakesetter 23LSV. I know that I will probably not be able to run the course behind it, but I was just curious how bad it is.

aneal000 07-27-2004 10:27 AM

Well, it's probably better than any I/O out there. But it's not going to be as good as the sunscapes cause it has the wakeboard hull. (non diamond) Hard to describe over the internet, and it depends on what you are used to, or what you would want it compared to... as far as tracking and power you should be fine, as far as wake goes it will be a whole lot bigger than say the 3 event Response but a whole lot smaller than say your typical I/O... maybe that helps a little...

psudy 07-27-2004 10:37 AM

Tony, thanks for the reply. Have you had any problems/dislikes with yours? If you wish it had or did one more thing, what would it be?

aneal000 07-27-2004 11:09 AM

Nope, no problems or dislikes. I kinda help out the local Malibu dealer and get a new boat every year so I know the things I want on my boats. I might of got the 8.1 motor... I'm a big power fan and love having a lot... I went with the Hammerhead and it's fine, just not big block power!

If you are looking for a decent ski wake in a big boat have you checked out the 23 Xti? It is on the LSV hull but is a Direct drive boat, so the wake is going to be a little better for slalom skiing, but if you load it down right you will get the same wake the LSV is capable of. I have my demo 04 Xti currently for sale and my LSV will be for sale the end of the summer. Email me if you have any more questions or might be interested in either boat. aneal000@charte r.net
