I hooked up a Simer 600 to one of my stock switches. After running the pump for about 2 minutes the switch popped and no longer would work. Any ideas why this would happen? One thing to note, the pump is about 10 feet from the switch and about 5 feet of it is using a smaller wire than what came with the pump. Does the switch have to be replaced now?

Are you sure that it is the switch. Could it be a blown fuse?

It is a 3-way switch and the pump that is hooked up on the other side doesn't work either. Is it possible to blow the switch?

Well I found the problem, first there was a splice in the wire that apparently was a little loose which caused the pump to short out. The part I missed last night was the Relay. I reset the relay and rewired with some thicker guage wire and vuala, problem gone.
