I just went to bent marine in kenner, la. They said it would cost 600 to detail my boat, and 400 to install a second battery with a switch. These prices seem alittle extreme. Am I just over reacting?
I have a 22" Supra Launch ssv

how dirty is the boat?

seems high IMO

Most detailers I know charge about 10.50 a foot to detail a boat. Also 400 to install a new battery seems really high. They are charging 200-300 bucks for install.

Do it yourself, it's easy and you know it was done right...

If you don't want to do it yourself I would recommend contacting a local stereo shop that has boat expertise. My local stereo shop will install the second battery & perko switch for $80 in labor (you supply the parts).

its like $150 or so in parts and then an hour of labor so dont pay more than like $250

Nick:

T answer your question. It all depends. I met a detailer that says he does wakeboard boats for around $21 dollars a foot. Some might do more some might do less. Find out exactley what he will do for $400 and decide weather or not its worth your time to do it.
As far as the battery install. Again You could put a 2nd battery in someones boat for $20 or $200 depending how its done. Cost can determan how wire is run the quality of the wire ect ect.

Example. Someone might ask. How much to run speaker wires for tower speaker's. IMO There is a cheep way to do it and the right way to do it and of corse that way is more expencieve. Both ways get the job done. But one looks alot cleaner when its finished. So I guess its a cost Vs what its worth to you.

We detail boats at where I work and I think we charge $17 ft and that includes ext and int detail and shampooing the carpet.

BENT MARINE IN KENNER!!!!! Haha, that is where we bought our malibu. Ok, I really dont want to say what they did to me, because I dont like spreading a bad word. But if you really want to know what I think about them, send me an email at leo0648@charter. net. They did some shady stuff to us that cost a lot of money.
