I can't seem to get a good surf wake out of the starboard side for a goofy footer. I'm running the gravity stock ballast currently, surf side filled as well as locker filled, with wakeplate all the way up. any suggestions?

more weight

how bout some overweight friends in the surf corner? these boats require much weight in the bow??

rhawn 07-05-2007 9:39 AM

Good how? Is it too short or not wide enough.

yager97 07-05-2007 10:20 AM

It is pretty much just wash out, im having trouble getting anything out of it. might be running at the wrong speed, i have heard 9mph is a good speed.

michealhoward 07-05-2007 10:57 AM

I would add more weight and speed up a few mph

We have the same boat ..... it throws a killer surf wake on both sides so it is not the hull design. Granted we do have some more weight usually but it sounds to me that you are going too slow. Go a touch faster and dont put the wake plate all the way up. When you put it down a little, it will smooth out the wake and make it more defined.

Be jealous of this wake ......

I run 400lbs in the corner. Stock center bag and 3 friends on that side. Plate all the way up, 9.5mph. If it is only 2 in the boat i will run 2 250lb sac up that side. One in the front, other in the middle.

JB said it right it puts out a great wake on either side.

we have a 00 mobius direct drive. and i get it to put out a monster wake. I run 600 behind the engine, 500 on the passenger side, 250 in the bow, plus the 400 of onboard ballest in the passenger corner, plus another 250 in the passenger corner. with 2 people sitting on the gunhal the wake is HUGE. ill take some pictures of it in the next day or 2.
the board i use is a trickboards surf skate

ps. i just learned how to do surface 720s and am almost getting shove-its.

bradenb12 07-06-2007 7:51 AM

JB is right, the less weight you have in the boat typically the faster you have to go.

04gravitygames 07-06-2007 8:22 AM

i run GG ballast bag in surf side plus 400 extra punds on surf side. frint ballast bag full 6 -50# steel plates under bow cushions and normally around 6 people. it kicks a$$. i have the lauch GG 2004 model. ill post pics soon

Finally got the wake dialed in on the goofy side, needed a bit more weight and speed. Post pics once we locate our cord for our camera to download pics. now all i need to do is learn how to surf, just got the inland surfer yellow, having trouble finding the pocket, gonna take some practice I think. I'm 5'10 180lbs, IS yellow going to be too hard for me to learn on???
