So I saw that tige came out with a new in floor ballast system, and supposedly has a "wakesurf" type option, that gives bags in addition, giving 2k of ballast.

I am wondering if that makes a Wakesurf ready boat from the factory, that can be switched from one side to the other. Wakesurf ready on BOTH sides. I can't wait to get a look at them.

I know they have talked to me about how I set up my boat, and I know they have paid attention to the wake on my tige, which is cool. But to have a fully automated system ready to make a great wake on both sides, could it be true? (wiping a small tear from my left eye)

Here is the text of the FULL press release.

TIGÉ ROLLS OUT INDUSTRY-LEADING INNOVATIONS, UNVEILING TIGÉTOUCH WITH 2010 MODEL LINEUP

OK, the new touchscreen stuff, with 20 boarder memory sounds REAL cool. Did you read, it even says the memory holds ballast settings. Sounds very convenient. If you notice the release says that there are 2 tanks in hull for 900 lbs total and then an option for addition bags in lockers for up to 2000 lbs. I would love to see how this works and how well it surfs. I will post as I find out more of this boat.

Here is the text of the release:

Leading the many innovations for 2010 is TigéTouch, the world’s first fully functional touch-screen control system to be used in an inboard watersport boat. Designed specifically for today’s watersports enthusiast, TigéTouch seamlessly integrates the control of all operating systems, watersports performance settings and engine monitoring functions into a single user-friendly 6.5” full color multi-media touch-screen display. Intuitive, easy-to-navigate screens and menus control and monitor multiple functions and settings with the touch of a finger. Available on all 2010 Tigé RZ and Vé models, the innovative system uses proprietary Tigé software designed to simplify use, maximize reliability and allow a wide range of user customization, including one-touch creation of up to 20 athlete custom profiles registering riding speed, ballast settings, and TAPS2 position.

Ergonomics, safety and ease of use were top priorities in development of TigéTouch, which is part Tigé’s contemporary 2010 dash design for its RZ and Vé series boats. The new dash features a clean, simplified layout and ultra-low profile to maximize forward visibility. The three stylish Medallion digital/analog gauges work in tandem with the TigéTouch control screen that is conveniently located to the right of the main dash, easily accessible by the driver and in close proximity to the throttle handle. In addition to its fully functional finger-touch capabilities, TigéTouch also features a set of raised control buttons to the right of the display. This fingertip recognition feature allows the driver to easily adjust speed control, audio and other functions without taking his eyes off the water.

Renowned Tigé watersports versatility has been given a significant boost for 2010 with the development of an advanced modular ballast system providing up to 2,000 pounds of factory ballast. The entire system has been designed for maximum flexibility and unlimited weight distribution configurations easily controllable through the TigéTouch display. The base factory ballast option includes under floor tanks with a 900-pound capacity. The Surf package adds two bags in the rear storage area. When empty, these bags are retractable to allow full use of the storage areas. The Pro package ballast option includes base and surf packages plus two independent bags in the bow.

Tigé 2010 interiors feature several upgrades and refinements. All Tigé RZ, Ve and Z1 models now feature snap-in removable carpet throughout and a fully integrated fiberglass floor system. The new floor has been engineered to provide full, easy access to the fuel tank and other under-floor components.

This sounds great!

MB's 21's (TWB and Tomcat) have 2k of ballast that fill and empty in less than 60 seconds. Both sides are beautiful with no extra ballast. My wife and I go out all of the time with just the two of us, she is regular and I am goofy.

I can't wait to see what they have done with this surf ready package, hoping for pictures and more detail at some point.

no to be a downer but 450#s under the floor with a 550 bag on top is not revolutionary. Most of us are running more then 1000#'s too. We used to set up mastercrafts to fill and drain with an extra sac with the factory pump. Axis has this option too. If it switches sides quick that would be cool.

ragboy 08-16-2009 5:01 PM

Nothing to do with being revolutionary. The idea is that it comes from factory this way, you can memorize ballast and taps and speed settings, and here is the kicker, its on a boat hull that is KNOWN to throw a GREAT wake on both sides.

Agreed that others have done the ballast, and done the memory and such.

OK, I got some more images. Now, this has nothing to do with the wake and I hope to get a demo on one of these things to be able to report about it. But as a lover of my Tige, and a lover of all things geek and tech, this gives me a chubby.

This excites me to see tige really step up to the plate on the fit and finish of the interior.

notsobueno 08-19-2009 3:35 PM

Looks good to me.

chpthril 08-19-2009 4:31 PM

I imagine the wake will be pretty close to what it is now on the 09's with the in-floor tanks and my 1K custom sac that a couple of the guys are running. I think it's and awesome option, best one for the 2010's so far, IMO.

no_really 08-19-2009 5:22 PM

More pics-more pics!

slimjim44 08-20-2009 8:50 AM

Is that an upholstered dash? Also looks like the switched to the Malibu style tower. YAY snap out carpet. I want one of those. RAG, if you have to demo the boat in Sac I would love to come.

ragboy 08-20-2009 9:16 AM

I haven't spoken to tige yet about any demo yet but I am sure I will talk to them after the surfexpo and things are not so nuts for them. I will def let you know.

Yes, the 09s had upholstered dash also. Heck, I think my tige does too. Can't remember?!

ragboy 08-20-2009 9:17 AM

@no_really

I found one more pic of the outside of a Ve.

hatepain 08-20-2009 4:40 PM

^^^ Thats HOT!!

chpthril 08-20-2009 5:15 PM

The Alpha-Z tower was introduced for the 09 lineup for the Z1, Ve and Rz models. The hulls (running surface and size) have not really changed, but major changes in other options/areas from the 08's to the 09's, and even more for 2010. Some yet to be announced.

jdjjamesz 08-20-2009 7:29 PM

how much is that boat.

no_really 08-20-2009 8:52 PM

That is a beauty ragboy! Thanks and I really like that color combo.
