Sweet. Nice boat and truck. You look like a happy camper in that picture. You in Washington? I see that is Coulon park in Renton.

joeshmoe 06-14-2012 2:59 PM

I didn't think you were allowed to tow Malibu's with ford products!

Nothing special? It's your new baby, of course it's special. Nice looking set and congrats. Now let's see some riding pics!

Awesome, looks in good shape!!! Wake pics please...possibly looking at getting something similar.
Thanks

gotta agree with dave congrats boat looks great, whats on the tower above the speakers?

I have a '97 and LOVE it. I think they are the best all around v drives you can get for the price. I don't have a wedge but still like the wake. A buddy of mine had an '05 Vride and the wakes were almost identical but I think in '98 you have the exact hull as the first vride. Lets see some more pics and the interior. You must have some wrap around seating in there.

purdy!!

Congrats !!! Love the 2nd pic. That's how I feel every time I get on a boat. Whether its a nautique or an aluminum fishing boat.

My cousin has that boat model and it throws a pretty sick wake and it doesn't take a ton of weight to get there. Congratulations man, if you are ever in the tri cities, wa area hit me up!

downfortheride 06-14-2012 9:14 PM

Congrats on the new toy! Suggest to angle them racks up just a bit so the racks take the weight and not the cord. Summer is going to be awesome!

nitrousbird 06-15-2012 3:50 AM

Yeah, I think your racks are mounted upside down.

We have an '01 SS VLX and love it.

i owned a sunsetter D drive and rode frequently behind your same boat with a lot of weight in it (Nick in the TC)... Great wakes, never touchy on side to side.

Looks to be in nice shape... Congrats!!

scotthons 06-15-2012 6:50 AM

Looks great! You will enjoy the hell out of it this summer!

If you have a 97 VLX I am almost positive you have the same exact hull as the 05 Vride. The wake hull is the SV23. I am pretty sure the following boats have that hull.

-1996 to 2000 Sunsetter VLX(not sure what year they started but whatever the first year is)
-1999-2004 wakesetter VLX
-95 to 2004 or so Sunsetter/Sunsetter LX
-2005-2008 Vride
-2005-whenever they stopped I-ride

There were other boats prior to these year like the echelon and the original response that weere on the SV23 as well.

I had a friend with an 05 vride and side by side there were some differences. I can't remember exactly what they were, but his wake with the same set up was a little more crisp and a little firmer. For specs on the '97 malibus every boat made had the SV23 hull, In '98 they came out with the wake and the diamond.

bnswan 06-17-2012 3:06 AM

yea wake is sick i have 400 in the ski locker and the wedge adds 1000 (so they say). wedge makes the wake sharp and clean at 21mph on the perfect pass. doing some research budget wise it seemed like the best hull and boat for the money. not bad for a 23 year old!
