are there any new wakeboarding games coming out ever since byerlys got cancled i havn't seen any more.

bbking 12-03-2007 2:38 PM

nope, don't plan on it either...

somebody had made their own wakeskate game for the computer... it was pretty interesting

12-03-2007 6:25 PM

i wish there was some more modern wakeboard games cause that would be sick. also more realistic cause Murray's game you could do like triple tantrums and get like 30 feet above the tower(which was cool). i didnt know byerly was gonna have a game.

nickdakoolkat 12-03-2007 6:29 PM

I love Murrays game...it was basically the same controls as Tony Hawk, so i was killin in it from day 1...But it used to drive me crazy riding doubles cuz people would always concentrate on tripping me instead of doin tricks cuz they were gettin scraped!

12-03-2007 6:32 PM

haha seriosly man... wakeskating in a game would be extremely fun if it was tha same controls as Tony hawks game.

spin2win 12-03-2007 6:52 PM

Byerly's was I think 1 year after Murray's. Shapiro has one for the computer thats really hard IMO. I personally think they are G. A .Y. There is not as many tricks in wake as there on in skate, snow, bmx. The terain really does not change all that much. my .02

trewblu 12-03-2007 7:23 PM

were do you get murrays game at

waterdork88 12-03-2007 8:55 PM

i liked murray's game and how you could hit a rail, do a whirly, land back on the rail, let go of the rope, go into a maze of rails and just do so many rediculous stuff

would be cool if they made a second one but made it into a real story mode. and have reasons for the places you go and the goals you have to meet

hawk7 12-03-2007 9:07 PM

there was a thread on this a while back

There is Murray's game - Wakeboarding Unleashed (PS2, GBA, Xbox and PX), Burstrick for PS1, and Darin Shapiro's Big Air Wakeboarding for PC. All but Wakeboarding Unleashed weren't very good.

I want EA to revive the genre. I think they could do it with the success of games like Skate. and SSX.
http://www.wakeboardreport.com/archives/2007/05/calling_out_to_ea_sports_big_p.html

(Message edited by juniorhawk on December 04, 2007)

I am in a game development class right now and I am writing a document for a wakeboard game based on the physics of skate. I would love to see it get published just for the sake of a sweet wakeboard game. If anyone has ideas or wants to help support the development of the game let me know.

I have emailed EA and Raven Software and I don't think they realize how big a GOOD/real wakeboard game could be. Wakeboarding is growing so fast and people who would be interested in a wakeboard game similar to the physics and game play of skate need to let the companies know by emailing them.

Send me an email with ideas to get something like this going

osmosis540@gmai l.com

Trew, Check ebay. I just picked up one for under $10...

Get the Xbox version if at all possible because you can listen to your own playlist. Due to a backwards compatability update the original Xbox version of the game works on the 360.

The music on Wakeboarding Unleashed is among the worst on any game that I know of, or own. And with the PS2 version, you're flat out stuck with it.

jcstudebaker 12-04-2007 10:30 AM

I always thought that it would be cool to do a Franchise type of wakeboarding game. You start out on like the grassroots tourneys, then coach behind a crappy boat with a bad board and learn new tricks and older tricks get easier then you try to qualify for the PWT and competition gets tougher and you get boat sponserships and board sponserships come in and you get better equiptment and get money from fims which you cna practice more, you get the pickture. Then when your the best the competition gets really good and you have to keep advanceing and practing to keep up.

juniorhawk 12-04-2007 10:38 AM

I think you mean a 'sim', not a 'franchise'. Like Amped for example, is a sim.

And Skate. is to Tony Hawk what your proposed idea would be to Wakeboarding Unleashed.

Yes I'd like to see that too. I'd like to see EA do it due to their resources and technical abilities. I'd pretty much like to see any news on this front and even with contacts pretty deep in the gaming industry, I know of absolutely nothing.

(Message edited by juniorhawk on December 04, 2007)

IMO Skate is one of, if not the best game EVER made!!! I have played it SO much and never get tired of it. I have not played it in a day or two, Im going to hit up Downtown as soon as I get home. (After I go pick up Superbad of course)

If someone made a Wakegame like that, I think I would call in to work sick for atleast a week. HAHAHA Wakeboarding Unleashed was a fun game. Just like the Tony Hawk games you can make it more "real", if you want. Just don't cut in so hard take every thing wake to wake and don't hold your grabs so long. IMO its way fun to play like that. You can lay down a realist run. Thats what me and my friends have always done. My biggest problem with that game is no open areas to just wakeboard. There is way to much crap all over the place. They need to have open areas were the boat just holds a straight line. Also you could do a Co-op were one guy drives the boat and one guy rides, but you could not throw a Dub. whats up with that??

waterdork88 12-04-2007 11:22 AM

would be pretty cool if you could somehow incorporate doubleups into the game.

juniorhawk 12-04-2007 11:23 AM

BG I think you're exactly right - thats what the game was missing. A big open area. The training area/delta almost gives you that but you can't use that level without participating in the tutorial.

The first level is the most open of any, and the last level (waterworld?) has some areas in which the boat turns around and it feels more open. But I agree, it needed that open area. I think "Timberlake" has some open areas too if you play the level on freeride.

Skate. is on my Christmas list. I've played the 360 demo for Skate. more than some games I actually own...

pwningjr 12-04-2007 2:26 PM

Erik, actually you're not stuck with the music on PS2. You can turn off the music in game (I'm assuming) and turn on a stereo! I do it all the time!

juniorhawk 12-04-2007 3:40 PM

True true - right. Yes you can disable songs. Such as "Flirtin With Disaster". Also - all the rest of them

Seriously silence is better than that soundtrack. I think there are only 1 or 2 that I can stomach.

hawk7 12-04-2007 5:23 PM

I liked water world.
timberlake was cool too where you could jump over the bridge onto that rail... yea...
a flooded area was a good idea but it went to waste.

ideas for the next one?
new orleans flooded.
have career mode where you start off looking for a place as a third until you get your own boat sponsors ect.
also you can choose your vest. cga, or ncga/ no vest but you might die/have to swim when you fall.
...
