hope you guys stay safe down in south texas. <BR> <BR>we are all praying for your safety along with your boat

bac 09-12-2008 4:23 PM

Its definitely gonna get interesting around here for us. <BR> <BR>I wish I had my camera at the time to snap some pictures, but a few miles from my house they have some gas tankers fully surrounded by US Military Humvees and what looked like Unimogs along with fully armed military guard. Its pretty weird to see the streets in Houston practically empty and the just military and local law enforcement driving around

fordmxracer 09-12-2008 6:37 PM

im in my house riding it out in beaumont texas....boat is on the safe side of the house....if there really is a safe side lol

99_slaunch 09-12-2008 6:59 PM

Sugarland here. Riding it out too. Boat is in the garage. Good luck every one.

dabell 09-12-2008 7:28 PM

Here is a local Houston news channel for more info. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.click2houston.com/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.click2houston.com/index.html</a>

kemah ringing in

csparks13 09-12-2008 8:04 PM

Westheimer and beltway 8 here. I think its about to get crazy. Boat is in College Station safe for now. Stay safe everyone.

scwellman 09-12-2008 9:09 PM

Riding it out on the water at Lake Conroe, boat in storage down the road, Waverunner tied down on lift. Not much going on here as of yet. <BR> <BR>Everyone be safe, and thank god for good insurance!

c640947 09-13-2008 8:24 PM

boat rode on the lift on lake houston, with the eye passing right over it. <BR> <BR>everything is intact from what i hear.

dreevs 09-15-2008 6:11 AM

Thats good to hear Andrew!

scwellman 09-15-2008 8:05 AM

House and boat made it! Major clean up and no power expected for at least 1 week or longer. <BR> <BR>My waterfront community (Walden Lake Conroe) took it hard; 90mph winds in a old timber wooded area, trees down everywhere, through homes, on cars, etc...I count myself lucky.

denverd1 09-15-2008 10:24 AM

i'm up in Tyler. lots of wind and rain, no power for 2 days but more areas are back on. <BR> <BR>Best of luck to those with more damage.

blindmnkee3 09-15-2008 10:43 AM

OMG! I can't believe how much damage all the way up at Conroe. I used to drive past the marina on HW 105 a couple times a week and it is just destroyed, wow, so sad (at the above link, look in the slideshow section, "Your pictures, Part 2: After Ike") <BR> <BR>I hope you guys in Kemah and South Houston are alright.

hump44 09-15-2008 2:15 PM

Any 1 needing parts or repairs to there boats, Nortex Water Sports Dallas, and Austin are here for all your needs! Godbless Hope you all made it!

hehateme 09-15-2008 2:42 PM

scwellman 09-15-2008 3:23 PM

Martin, <BR> <BR>It was April Plaza Marina, I will be going by your storage unit in a couple of hours but won't be able to get you information until tomorrow when I get back to an area with power and internet.

hehateme 09-15-2008 3:47 PM

Thanks Wellman. If you can send me a text message. 2815097376 that would be great. Thanks again.

02wakesettervlx 09-15-2008 4:19 PM

Sounds like I got out with my boys just in time. We flew out Thursday night. Airport was a mess.

ericlee 09-15-2008 4:55 PM

We sent 20 trucks and more than fifty guys from my utility to Texas to help restore power. Some are in Houston others are in Beaumont. Any other pics anyone would care to share?

882001 09-15-2008 5:14 PM

i jumped in the truck before the storm was over and took a handful with my phone<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626551.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626552.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626553.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626554.jpg" alt="Upload">

scwellman 09-16-2008 7:13 AM

Martin, <BR>Sent you text-storage unit looks okay.

hehateme 09-16-2008 8:34 AM

Thank you!!!!!

rkg 09-16-2008 8:38 AM

Is that the Kemah Boardwalk under water in your pics? We visited there a year or so back on our way through. Looks like that area got pretty hammered as far as the surge goes. good luck on the clean up.

882001 09-16-2008 9:50 AM

<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626765.jpg" alt="Upload"> yeah thats the boardwalk taken from the bridge.

c640947 09-16-2008 1:04 PM

well, lake houston was up over 3 feet sunday. it has come off a bit since. the upper san jac was up at least twice as much from what i hear. <BR> <BR>before <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626809.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR>after <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626810.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626811.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR>i took the boat off the lift since it was about the float away

c640947 09-16-2008 1:05 PM

i was able to raise the pontoon further up in the dock, but mastercraft wont go up much further due to tower and even if i fold it, hydraulic is fixed height. I guess thats a downside to it.

stroh 09-18-2008 9:11 AM

Hope everyone is ok. We felt Ike here in Indiana. Our agency has experienced nearly 125 claims. I never thought I'd host a hurricane party!

acurtis_ttu 09-18-2008 10:42 AM

put my boat in a local parking garage the day before the storm...it didnt' even get wet. Our neighborhood will be w/o power for 3-4 weeks. We've been running off a generator since friday afternoon. The wave action damaged our bulkhead in a few spots, but nothin more than some missing shingles ( roof leaks a bit) and window screens on the house.

pdxWAKE 09-18-2008 12:26 PM

Wow... hope it all works out for you guys!

hatepain 09-18-2008 4:53 PM

Man that would be tough I feel for you guys and hope everything comes out ok. Hopefully your insurance companys that always claim to be there for you actually will be.

acurtis_ttu 09-18-2008 6:14 PM

We supposedly had 100 mph winds out on our lake, and like a dumbas* ...I had to. I stepped outside with life jacket, and a flashlight....pretty insane. I'm about 200-210 lbs, and I had a hard time standing in some of the gusts. The rain felt like neddles hitting your body. Our lake looked more like an ocean with huge swells in it.

csparks13 09-19-2008 10:59 AM

Here are some pretty cool links with some pictures. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.tpicks.com/pictures_people_have_sent_me.htm" target="_blank">http://www.tpicks.com/pictures_people_have_sent_me.htm</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/the_short_but_eventful_life_of.html" target="_blank">http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/09/the_short_but_eventful_life_of.html</a>

roomservice 09-19-2008 12:20 PM

Has anybody seen my garage door? It's white and was last seen traveling in a frisbee-like fashion towards the north / northwest at about 90 mph. I was thinking maybe it's in Chicago. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

kneeboarder8806 09-21-2008 10:11 PM

everything is good where i am at. house lost a few shigles and some tree damage. Boat shed is a whole different story though. It looks like it was a house of cards and someone took a leaf blower to it. the door of our stall fell and hit the boat and gouged out the gelcoat. the roof was gone too so the boat had about 25 gallons of water that pulled the cover to the floor. not bad at all considering the people in galveston

04gravitygames 09-22-2008 4:28 AM

Pearland took a hit. Still with out power and it sucks. House is hamered and lots of damage.

882001 09-22-2008 6:22 PM

dreevs 10-01-2008 12:25 PM

Man, I feel for you guys. We go through a lot of these hurricanes too. I know just how much that sucks.

ericlee 10-02-2008 10:23 AM
