Anything is possible. But they usually say something a little ahead of time. Even their email isn't working.

TheMalibuCrew.com is under a DDOS attack. We are working with the Host to get it solved. We are trying several different approaches and as of now the host has pulled the server offline. We appreciate your patience and we will be back ASAP.

We are still working on it with our Host. As soon as we can stop or deflect the attack we will be back up.

Well it turns out that I do have an account here, didn't realize that.

DDOS has risen sharply over the past 6 months. Who knows why we were targeted, but the attacks are coming from many different countries, not just China. At this point all we can do is wait it out, since we don't have the resources to really fight it, not an attack of this magnitude. So hang tight, & hope that these knuckleheads get bored with our little corner of the internet & decide to go bully someone else soon.

No ETA yet on when we'll be up......

I hope they get bored fast, I'm starting to like things over here at WW!!

So how do you know when it's over? Even though the site is down, the server still shows a large amount of traffic?

Can probably see traffic still hitting the ip of the site in the intrusion detection device or firewall. I would not think they would lose any data just by taking it off the Internet (essentially, just unplugging the network cable or closing the port in the firewall).

They should be able to change the IP address, update DNS record, and bring the site up. I am sure they are verifying that nothing on the server is infected or compromised before doing so.

Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be IP based. I'll leave it to the savvy members here to deduce what that likely means.

Yes, our data should be safe. But it's irrelevant if we can't get back online.

I've set up a Facebook page for us so that we don't continue to use the resources & garner attention away from this site's focus. Here's the link: Malibu Crew Facebook Page. To the mods/admins here, a very heartfelt thank you for giving us a place to regroup while we circle the wagons. This is one thing that makes the boating community so great. Thank you so much.

I hear you. I know what it's like to get attacked like that and it's not pretty. Luckily, I was able to pin down what I did to piss them off, so hit me up if you're not sure why you were victimized. Maybe I can help.

We've got access to our files we are uploading them and hoping this will resolve the issue we are having. There is a informational page setup at themalibucrew.com but the database isn't fully uploaded yet.

It was working approximately 45 minutes ago but is down again with database errors:(

It's up for me. Big thumbs up to the WW crew for the hospitality, I'll definitely be stopping by more often, I like alot of the content here!

We have the site off line to complete the propagation of the database. We are up on a new host and should if all things go well be online tomorrow.. May the force be with us!

It didn't go down, but it is having all sorts of errors. They must be doing some work to it. I was researching doing a manual surfgate and all of a sudden it stopped working. :(

Site is back down again. Tried it at work a couple hours ago and again at home - no dice.

We're having a server problem. We are working on it. We will be back ASAP.
