AJ, your set up is so clean!

sidekicknicholas 04-20-2010 7:31 PM

Not really that nice, but cheap and done by myself on the cheap:
Kickers - $350 Bazookas - $120 (worthless for the most part but fill up the space)
Sub - Apline Type-R 15" - $30 from my old roomy
Sony 1000w amp for the sub and Sony 660w amp for the tower speakers - $150
Head unit - $50 wal mart cheapie
LEDs/Neon - $10 from auto parts store discount bin

Its honestly crystal clear at 75ft.... not very bassy but clear non-the-less

Ehh, I'll play....
Nothing too big and fancy for sure compared to all the custom jobs done, but I did it for the most part myself. The sub panel was done by my buddy at Sound Decision and he helped me with the EQ mount too.
1 Pair of Pro80s
3 Pairs of XS650s
1 XS-10FA Sub
1 Syn2 amp
1 Syn 4 amp
1 Syn Micro Amp
1 WS420 EQ

sidekicknicholas 04-21-2010 6:00 AM

Yeah it hits pretty hard.

It would be much better in a legit box, but it was just so big that just getting it down there was a PITA anyways.... but I would recommend one, its not the BEST out there but for $30 I couldn't say no.... deals are deals

Matt 04-21-2010 11:01 AM

How does the generator work? Run it through a charger? What amps are you running?

younguns44 04-22-2010 6:45 PM

can a rider hear that 75 ft back?

tims72 04-22-2010 8:25 PM

im running hifonics amps they didnt have wetsounds amps at the time of install. i plug the generator into the conveter the same way you plug a generator into a trailer to charge the batteries. the honda will run for 10 hrs or so on a gallon of gas works perfect. YES you can hear it at 85 feet with ease. when i turn it up will boarding the rope will vibrate to your hands.

dbdan 04-22-2010 9:34 PM

Greg,
I had to do a double take when looking at your amps. At first glance I thought you mounted your Perko to the top of the amp...:o

Tims72,
Is that a custom billet piece holding the 420 and remote?

Nice set ups!

Hey hyperlite, can you board with the 485's on top of the tower? My rope snags on the quick release mounts sometimes. which amp push the 485's?

clayton191 04-24-2010 8:53 AM

John, Is that your boat or you doing the stereo for them? Did you ever sell your pimp supra?

tims72 04-24-2010 9:54 AM

i have never had any problems with the rope snagging on the speakers as the rope goes underneath the speaker. im running 2 hifonics zxi 8408, it puts 440 watts at 4 ohms to the 485's.
