I need a little advice. I will be traveling to Florida next month and I would like to spend a day at a wakeboard camp. The only problem is I have no idea what camps are in the area that I will be in. Also I would like to go to one that comes recommended instead of just randomly picking one. The first part of my trip I will be in Orlando and the second part near Fort Lauderdale. I know that there are a ton of camps around Orlando but I have no idea about Fort Lauderdale. So if anyone can suggest or recommend some schools for me to contact in these areas I would be really really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

There are tons of schools in Orlando that is true. I live near Ft.L and the only one within 30 minutes of there is the wakeboard-school mentioned above. You will have fun there. You mentioned you are only going to go to a school for a day...so if you are just looking to ride you can also go to the ski rixen cable park or catch a ride with me. Have fun.

Email Dave Briscoe, here is his site http://www.thewakeboardcoach.com/ he can probably work you in anytime you can ride.

Give www.adamswakeboardschool.com a shot. Great instruction by Adam Fields.

You can't beat The Boarding School. Shaun, Travis and Kyle are the best.

www.theboardingschool.com

i was at o-town last week and all i can say is what an awesome place, conditions were great glass everyday and no boats on the water, glen is a great coach and helped all of us progress very fast, the tinyest tips helped me land my ts roll and the accomodation is nice too, big beds lots of rooms kitchen and big screen tv. All in all two thumbs up

www.ridethespot.net for sure, I've been there several times and it just keeps getting better. Darin is one of the coolest people I've had the chance to meet and the accommodations are great. I would have to recommend ride the spot for anyone considering a wake camp.

Lot's of good camps, I recommend www.otownwatersports.com my son has been going there for the last 6 years.

The boarding school is an all around great experiance. Travis, Shaun, and Kyle are so much fun to hang out and ride with.

timmy 11-15-2007 8:24 AM

I've been to a private clinic with Dean Lavelle up in the midwest, awesome time!

Also, I have spent a week at Dave Briscoe's camp, that was an awesome time as well (and you can learn other stuff too, like barefooting)

It says a lot about all of these schools mentioned in this thread that people don't have anything but great experiences.

wakeboarder123 11-15-2007 8:31 AM

o town is the sh+t glass all day and glen is an awsome coach.

sunsport 11-15-2007 10:46 AM

I've been to the Wakeboard Camp a few times and been to several others. The Wakeboard Camp was hands down the best coaching I've ever had. http://www.wakeboardcamp.com/index.php

Skiing made me board,
Lyle
Chrome Dome

scooby76 11-15-2007 2:32 PM

I've been to The Project and would highy recommend it. I thought there instructions were great and the conditions can't be beat. Three private lakes that were glass the whole time I was there. Plus the rail park was a great change to the day.

www.theprojectspark.com

lfxstar 11-16-2007 8:21 PM

Dean's school is fun and Dean is a legend and a really nice guy. If i had my choice it would be Murray's camp (even though i haven't been there) just because the opportunity to ride with murray is once in a lifetime and you have the choice between a nautique or xstar.

gti2lo 11-16-2007 9:39 PM

Xstar--> Boarding school... Travis does R&D for Mastercraft..

phatsac 11-17-2007 6:45 AM

Briscoes gets my kudos, he wont take you out to hold hands and sing koombaya... but if you got a desire to work hard and get better he will give you some bang for your buck ! very user friendly schedule wise... give him a buzz 863-521-1076 (Winterhaven,Fl)
