Is there a board out there that offers the best of both worlds-skim and surf? Any recommendations for someone at 152 lbs and surfing behind an 02 xstar with a great surf wake for 2 years?

IMO the Walzer is propably a Hybrid or as close to what you'll find on the market today. Riding the board revert after a shuv is a bit hard, due to fin placement, but otherwise it's shaped virtually like a 4'6" skimmer

http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87668/378813.html

Another option is from Stripes - Chip Conrad is the proprietor of that shop.

It's his Pro Skim Surf (Pro SS). Chip told me it is built as crossover board for folks looking for something combining the benefits of both skim and surf styles.

4'9", 21" wide, 1 1/2" thick, Eps foam, Epoxy, 6 oz glass.

We haven't had the opportunity to ride this one yet, but I do know Chip's products are stellar.

Thanks for the information Jeff. Now, is there anywhere in the Northern Cal (above Sac) to demo one? Thanks.

You know, I have a Walzer - I can send one home with Dennis if you get to Folsom, I'll hit Chip up for a demo board at some point. We'll be heading out to New Hogan starting this Sunday and probably every weekend through next November and we can always bring out the Inland 4-skim, Calibrated Telum, the Walzer, the prototype Walker Project Composite X 4'6".

Give me a shout.

That would be awesome Jeff. Thanks for the offers. I will be in touch.
