I was just over at the WO classified and saw this website advertising:

http://www.tow-surfing.com

I think it would be a blast to use my own wakesurfer on a larger wave and not have to paddle in or try to pop up. The price tag, though, is kind of steep.

Yeah I'm totally ready to go from my wake surf wave to those monsters.

@ dtw - you'll tow me for $450 / 3 hours, or you'll CHARGE me $450 to go ride in my place with those folks? I'm with Joe B - the $450 seems pricey...but it would sure be fun if I could take my own wakesurfer.

What type of board is that? I haven't seen one with feet straps, is it a kitesurf board? Anyone ever try one of these behind a surf boat?

timmyb 09-03-2009 1:42 PM

$495 for 3 hours isn't all that bad when you think about the work involved (seems ridiculous at first though). You have to have the equipment (a wave runner), next you have to pay for gas/oil/maintenance, safety equipment, safety training, and insurance and then you have to chase someone around for 3 hours. I suppose you could possibly take up to 2 people surfing at once but that might be pushing it. Not exactly a super profitable business after you break it all down.

"smurf barrels" ftw!

(Message edited by timmyb on September 03, 2009)
