I am probably inbetween. You are doing them correct though and they look much better to do the 180 late. I bet people throw them more out the back than they feel like they do.

DJ, thats how I originally did them. Then after taking one out into the flats I blew my knee out. After that I started putting them out the back to get a better landing spotted. Now I have "turned" it into a TS ole off 5 (working on the mute grab). Long story short, learn them both ways and add a second trick to your bag.
