I think I've pretty much decided on picking up an early to mid 90s MC maristar for my first wakeboat as it seems to have a pretty good wake and is pretty roomy from what i've read, which are my 2 needs.
my question is about the change in hull design. from what i've read in a few posts the Maristar hull was the original X hull. what year did that hull start? and are the ones before it still good?
thanks
tom

The new hull started in 1998. A '98 and newer Maristar 210 is the same hull as a new X-10 and a Maristar 230 is the same hull as a new X-30. If you can't afford that hull style and want a V-drive, you will want to stay newer than about '95. The '94 and older Maristars were all direct drive except a few V-drives that are better described as beta test models.
