Yesterday morning I fell on a hs 180 into the flats and then after landing, I think I went onto my heels as well as nose, causing the front toeside edge of my board to catch and my front foot was ripped out of my D2s with the bootie. My foot is now swelled up over the top as you hopefully will be able to see in the crappy cell phone pic attached. I am able to move my foot and put some weight on my foot, all my weight depending on the angle I stand on it.

I'm gonna see the doctor tomorrow, but thought I'd see what you guys think. What's the chances I broke a bone and what kinda recovery time am I looking at either way? What's the best thing to do, just keep it iced and elevated?

Have any of you guys had anything similar happen? I think I tightened my bindings a little more than usual, might have made it worse.

broken bone = 6-8 weeks
sprain or strain = depends on how tough you are

That happened to me 3 times in 1 week this year trying to attempt a back roll. It hurt , as my left foot was sprained but I kept riding. It is now healed after about 4 weeks.

There are a lot of bones in your foot, too many for anyone to tell you what may be your problem without X-rays. If the swelling and pain is in your mid-foot you may want to ask for a weight bearing X-ray also - lisfranc injuries are commonly misdiagnosed as sprains (even by doctors). Hopefully in your case it's just a slight sprain. Having had a pretty serious foot injury, if it were me, I'd look for a foot/ankle specialist as they're a lot less likely to misdiagnose whatever may be wrong with you, which hopefully is nothing major, good luck...
