patty GL1 isnt hd, its also uses dv mini. but still its a good camera and i still like it.
|
if you liked the gl1, you'll love the panasonic dvx100. there should be a bunch of used ones online. try dvxuser.com.
|
ok cool thanks. yeah i like that GL1. would that be a good camera to take to get action footage?
|
a bunch of wake flicks were shot w/ the dvx, including .the chick flick and delta sessions.
|
you know how cheap i can get this??? im 15 but am seriously looking into this cam....
|
woops.. meant to write high quality.. but thanks Joe ill definitely have to check that site out

Lots of great films have been made with both the DVX and GL1 but that was yesteryear and technology is advancing faster than ever. Don't get locked in to a dead format, buy a cheap HD cam so you can still use the footage after you've upgraded to something else down the road. Personally if I was strapped for cash and looking for a camera I'd get a HV40 or HF S100.

also whats a pretty good video editing software? im getting sick of the simpleness of windows movie maker

If your looking for small but beatiful picture...get a Canon hf10/hf100 or hfs10/hfs100. The 10's have flash memory built in and SDHC. The 100's use SDHC cards only. the hfs10/hfs100 offers higher bitrate and bigger lens and more options.

If your looking for a cam with a lot of power, one of the most beautiful pictures, and professional options throughout as well as one of the best workflows out (IMO)....then get the Sony PMW-EX1.

Difference between prices......HF10/HF100 run around 600-800. The HFS10/HFS100 cameras run around 1000-1300 i think. The Sony PMW-EX1 is around 6000.

-Nate
