Thanks...

I dial boats in all summer of all the brands. We got this Z3 with VX absolutely dialed. It is so long, super clean and long lip all the way to the roost. Very good transition. Have yet to ride another wake as good. Have made bigger, but always shorter or a huge wall that is not long enough to get speed to boost off of. This wake is tall enough for as long as it is for great boosting.

The first pic is my 24V. I love this wake as well. It is just not as long as the z3. If it were as long it would be equal. It does have a slightly different shape though and just something about it that I love. The sweet spot is a touch taller maybe idk. Still no complaints. The Z3 is 2' longer so the wake should be longer.

I had to slow down for a beginner rider. that shot is about 50-60 % ballast. she wasn't going to run 23-25 for nothing.

Ill grab some more pics this weekend

nice and clean looking boat BTW.

You are correct. I guess I need to scroll up to find your other post. Thanks for helping to clarify.

skiboarder 04-25-2014 10:12 AM

I absolutely hate wake pics. I could shoot a low angle go-pro shot of my little cousin standing by my MXZ wake sacked-out riding a 60ft line @ 20mph and it would look like I had the biggest wake in the world. I would have a make-up artist give him a Five-o-clock shadow and say he was 6-4 just for dramatic affect.

I was definitely talking about the idling picture. I have always liked the moomba line-up. But do get some more pics this weekend. I will try to get some better ones of mine as well. I doubt I will sac it out all the way cause none of my riders feel comfortable hitting it hard but I will get some at the size I like to ride.

skiboarder 04-25-2014 12:06 PM

There are some great riding pics in this thread and also some cool riding spots.

I agree. I try to keep my wake pics honest. I think if you can keep the shoreline in the background above to top of the wake and don't use any wide angle lenses, that's about as honest as you can keep it. All low, wide angle shots should be considered inadmissible.

CHern5972 04-25-2014 6:35 PM

Its all good. As stated its washy because the new rider is not having me run 23-25 with full ballast. Ill get more pics. Ill have someone with a go pro lay on my platform and shoot a great ang;e and have it look waist to chest high

Thanks Johnny.

^ wow your boat is 1 roller from being sunk...wake doesn't look as big as it should from the photos. I have an 05 and my buddy an 08, both loaded up pretty well so I know how big it can get. How many sets did you get before you ran out of gas??

tn_rider 04-27-2014 8:06 PM

It's big lol really big. Have to know what you're doing driving for sure. I'll try to get a better one. We shot some chase boat so I'll see if I can get a still shot. Three of us all rode and one rode twice. Burned a little more than 1/4 of a tank.

T_A 04-27-2014 8:17 PM

Does it have the 15" prop? How much nose weight? Surprised you didn't burn way more gas than that!

tn_rider 04-27-2014 9:59 PM

It has the acme 2315. It's got the front tank, not sure how much that is with a 1100 bow sack.

boardjnky4 04-28-2014 6:47 AM

standard 350? You're right, I don't believe you lol

tn_rider 04-28-2014 6:51 AM

Yep, standard 350 ha! Stock 4 tank full, 1100 in the bow, 1100 filled to around 750 in the rear and 9 people. It wouldn't plane with the wedge down.

boardjnky4 04-28-2014 7:04 AM

Gotcha, yeah i figured you'd never plane that out with the wedge. I'd rather run less ballast and use the wedge, but that's all personal preference.

You're not running any plug n play in the lockers or anything? Seems to me that it would better to do a plug n play setup with 500 or so in each rear locker, keep the bow weight.

Either way, riding and enjoying the day is more important than what ballast setup you're running.

tn_rider 04-28-2014 7:25 AM

The 1100's in each rear locker are plumbed in. I need them on separate jabsco pumps. They are just overflow from the stock tanks on a 90. Filling them is okay. Emptying them SUCKS. They don't want to pump out themselves and we constantly have to stand on them to push water to the pump to empty. I prefer the wedge too. We had just us 3 earlier that morning and had everything full plus wedge and it planed out. Got 6 more people and had to pull the wedge up. It's just too much of a pain to empty those back bags. I have another 750 I'm going to throw in the floor when it's just us 3 and see if it will plane it with the wedge down.

boardjnky4 04-28-2014 7:40 AM

OH they're in each rear locker, Thought you meant it was just one in the center of the boat.

Yeah that drain setup sucks. What you should do is the same setup that Axis does, which is put a Tee in the system where the drain pump connects to the hard tank, that way the drain from the bag has a direct line to the drain pump. Then connect the front drain on the bag to the overflow on the tank. You can also Tee off the fill pump to fill the bag faster.

tn_rider 04-28-2014 9:22 AM

I'll see if I can get a pic or two of the setup I have now. It sounds like that's what I have in it. It's two tee's not sure if they are on the overflow or not to empty. They will drain for a bit themselves but stop. Then we have to stand on them and start them again. Eventually we have to just push the rest out. It's almost not worth having them plumbed in and do it by hand pump.

boardjnky4 04-28-2014 9:50 AM

It's probably a "piggy back" and not a true plug n play. Get some pics. I am sure I can help you come up with something better on the cheap.

dezul 04-29-2014 4:48 AM

As promised. Sorry about the crappy quality of the pics. One of my friends used their cellphone to take the pics. The boat is a 2014 A22.

The first pic is of my friend surfing with the surf gate. We loaded it down pretty good on this one. I needed more nose weight but I didn't have the option of putting a sac in the bow due to the cooler and other stuff located in the bow.

The second pic is of me riding. It was my first ride of the season. I definitely noticed I needed to speed the boat up. The ballast was about full stock plus wedge and about 4 or 5 people in the boat.

The last pic is of my buddy riding. I think he had the same ballast setup as me except I sped the boat up a little.

For Surf:
Usually about 10.4 and taps at around 5, stock surf ballast, full front, full surf side
For Wake:
0 Ballast, taps around 4

Most important thing is deep water, 15+ft
