I went to wakecords.com and they sell Spectra line at a good price, but is it really a good line?? Can anyone give me some feed back about this line??

i've had one for about 3 or 4 seasons now, and it's a little faded but otw in perfect condition. it is very light & soft, but tangles a little easier than some other ropes. however, unlike most ropes, you can take knots out of it with some dish soap and a hammer.

soap and a hammer? never heard of that. what do you mean?

I had their rope also for a couple of years. It's a good price for spectra but I did notice it knotted up quite a bit. Also there is no protective cover on it so it can burn as the rope runs through your hands while you are in the water when the boat circles to pick you up.

For the money they are very good. Not as nice as the yellow jacket ropes, but almost half the price.

soak the knot in dish soap, and bang on the knot a little with a hammer. try to work it loose; if it doesn't come out, repeat. i took a couple knots out that were like a year old this way.

Jay knows what's up. I got a new jacket line and was exploding off the wake today.

hey, a cheaper rope is better
for those of us who run the darn
thing over no matter how much it costs

RIGHT, BTLOWE!!!??? hehehehehehe

aaron_bell 05-28-2003 12:14 PM

Tim,

Do you think the rope made the difference?

ofwc 05-28-2003 7:24 PM

Sandy, that sucks...I had already put that out of my mind!!!

tclagggym 05-28-2003 11:12 PM

Aaron, I could tell on just the way the line was loading up, big difference. It was really tight all the way through the wake.
Hey! BT Lowe, everybody has chopped a line, just most don't admit it.

sandbag 05-29-2003 8:13 AM

Haha, I knew you would find that!
I only did that to you because I wrapped
mine around the prop about the same time
as you. I was just lucky it didn't get cut.

Its amazing because every time I've
ever run over the rope, I have no idea
how it happened. I have to guess
it gets under the boat while the motor
is off and we drift over it, and then
it gets sucked in as soon as I fire up
the motor forgetting the rope is even in the water... let alone waiting under the boat
with in inches of the prop.

I blame my wife!

Never mind the fact that I was driving...

OK. What is the actual website address for wakecords?

kmc 05-29-2003 9:26 PM

The web address is
http://www.wakecord.com/cords.htm

Ken
