Are any of you other Nautique owners having problems with the observer seat opening up when you are trailing your boat? Of course this happens at the worst time. Like when theres a semi up your backside and no shoulder to pull onto so you can close it.
I was thinking of installing some kind of strap to hold it down. Has anyone else done anything else to solve this problem?

I only have had this happen if I do not have the bow cushions in allowing air to get into the observer seat from the back. When this happen, I did use a bungy to hold the seat down. Good luck.

Yes this Happens to me also. You have to tow with the Bow cover on. It stops the air flow threw the front of the boat. The seat has sutch good shock that help the seat rasie up it only take a litle bit of air from behind and it up in the air I feel your Pain Just tow with the bow cover It wont happen again

Good points...Thanks!

The type of strap down I was thinking of installing is the same as that holds the rear bench pad in place.

I towed mine from Tx to Missouri and back and the seat never came up. Go figure. Have someone sit in it and see if it launches them.

I had my san engine hatch come open at 60mph, looked in the mirror and shat myself. The cover puffed up like a balloon

I have had my engine cover come up once but no ob seat- Do most of you tow with your cover on? I was told by my dealer that it will leave rub marks on points where the cover hits the boat.
advise- thanks

I had the same problem with the ovservers seat openening up> even with the bow cover on> I think it was because the shocks that were brand new at the time were very strong> and didnt want to stay closed> any little bump would open it up. I returned it back to the Dealer> Larson Marine> and they installed a lock> it looks sweet and worked very well> it was cool because then you could lock your stereo equipment (subs or amps) up> and it would be a little harder for a thief to get to. The lock was black> the face of the lock matched the other locks: ie.> glove box door lock> and the ski locker lock.
Hope that helps.
