C Brown,

Why the sudden sale?

cbrown 08-17-2005 8:56 PM

We are selling to get a 2006 model Vlx.

mikel 08-17-2005 9:01 PM

What is the actual length of the VLX? Catalog says 21' 6"...but I want to know is that with the swim step or without?

Want to see if one will fit in my garage.

Thanks!

cbrown 08-17-2005 9:08 PM

It depends on whether or not you are planning on adding the power wedge to it or not. If not the boat on the trailer is 21ft6in with the swingaway tongue and the platform removed. The fiberglass platform is roughly two-two and a half feet, with the power wedge you have to take into consideration of the wedge assmebly as it is always in the up position on the trailer.

mikel 08-17-2005 9:40 PM

Ah, forgot about the wedge.

Thanks for the info!

08-18-2005 9:47 AM

Chris,
Thanks. That wake looks pretty sweet.

johnm_ttu 08-18-2005 11:19 AM

Chris,

What tower do you have on the boat? The chrome looks really sharp! Nicely done.

cbrown 08-18-2005 11:49 AM

It is the Titan series III with a polished finish. Thanks for the compliments on the boat.

cbrown 08-18-2005 5:13 PM

Ryan, I have been up to Norfork a couple times in the past but my family has a place at Heber so we spend most of our time there. We do however spend a week in July of every year at Bull Shoals Lake.

jinxton 08-22-2005 10:33 PM

Jeff,
Did you buy a new tow rig????

jeffr 08-23-2005 9:00 AM

No yet… Traded rigs for the day with a friend... call it a "test drive." She needed a smaller car for the day to deal with parking in the city. Aside from Cliff’s truck I had not towed with a diesel… and no way would I buy a manual tranny.

WOW…Diesel is definitely the way to go for towing! Debating on excursion vs. F250.

Still working out the details on possibly getting a different tow rig and a ‘commuter’ car too.
supra_herman 08-23-2005 10:06 AM

HEY jeff i have an exursion and it pulls great. I also debated between an f250 and the exursion. It is the exact same diesel engine. The reson i went with the exursion was because it had more passenger room and im always haulin my kids around and need the room. The thing will pull any thing it will pull my 10000 lb baja with ease. The exursion is a lil more expensive than the 250 but its worth it. If u want a new exursion though i woluld hurry cause 05 is the last year for them.

Is malibu using fosgates instead of xplods this year?

cbrown 09-01-2005 8:25 PM

Nope they are using Kicker instead of the Sony equip. Still have sony headunits and remotes but all amps subs and speakers are kicker for 06.

ralph 09-01-2005 10:10 PM

I'm not really a malibu guy but Dave Mix wakesetter is the total package. DOPE.

madchild1 09-01-2005 10:22 PM

dave mix, is that an lsv or a 247? either way, NICE!!

mcaddyman 09-02-2005 11:28 AM

no we were just working on it will add more pics later and yes it is a 247

dizzyg 09-02-2005 2:38 PM

Just picked ours up today.
it came with the wrong hull, diamond instead of the wakesetter

But,
our dealer (Tinus Marine of Oconomowoc, WI), hooked us up with an exact replica. It has a diamond hull but it makes a great loaner until the right one comes. We had already sold our old boat and didn't want to be without for the long weekend.

Looks beautiful though!
NONE, I'm just not a fan of graphics. I probably never will be, they just don't do anything for me other than let everyone else know exactly how old your boat is! When it's new...woohoo, when it gets older...not so woohooo
