Rev Limit indicator
 

Hello all,

I have a Suzuki outboard engine DF 250 (250 hsp). I was out at sea the past two days for a considerably long time on both days with the engine running. On the second day on the dashboard on the instrument panel a red light blinks with a warning sound showing 'LIMIT'. If I am not mistaken does this mean something to do with a Rev Limit indicator'?

I have no idea what this red flashing light is and what it means. Your comments are much appreciated.

Note: I am new to the boating world so nothing too technical please.
