Wide angle lens for my D5100 Nikon.

I am looking to add a wide angle lens for my D5100 but want to keep the price under $500. Any suggestions. Thanks

I ended up getting this lens from the Nikon store..AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. Had great reviews on every site I looked at plus it really wasn't much money.

Hey Rich can you post pics of the one you bought? I have the same D5100 and am looking into cheaper wide angle lenses.

The 35mm is one of the best lens out there for the price. I love mine, but I really wouldnt call it a wide angle. To the guy looking at it as well it is an amazing prime lens great for low light and anything you dont need alot of zoom. Same goes with the 50mm, just a little to close for my taste.

This lens is working out well for what I wanted it for. Takes great landscape photos and when I take photos of my daughters volleyball team, I only use it when the lighting is less than perfect. I took the one atached photo with it tonight when it was getting dark.
