Hello! and welcome to the 2007 New Jersey Riders thread!

Despite being the fourth smallest state in the country, New Jersey has a thriving wakeboarding scene.
In the north riders are tearing-up Greenwood Lake and Lake Hopatcong, along the central west coast riders
are ripping-up The Delaware River, in central southern Jersey riders are hitting The Rancocas Creek,
The Mullica River and Lake Lenape. And all along the east coast, brave salt water warriors are shreddin' the
brine from The Raritan River, to The Navesink River, Shark River, Manasquan River, Baregat Bay,
Turtle Cove, the back waters of Margate and The Horse Shoe in Avalon.

And the riders are eclectic: ranging from cautious young beginners, to fearless young adult maniacs,
to middle-aged boat buyers, all the way up to seasoned old school veterans who know how to style riding
just a plywood disk and a folding chair.

And in addition to New Jersey riders, the core wakeworld "Jersey" crew also has regular riders from the
nearby states of Pennsylvania and New York!

Yep, welcome to the 2007 New Jersey Riders thread!

And if you want a more focused look at our little thing here, check out www.wakeboardnj.com

And if you want to check-out our annual New Jersey Wakefest, go to www.njwakefest.com

And for some general New Jersey fun facts try http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey

Alright New Jersey crew! 2007 is here and the countdown to the first pulls of the season has begun!
Eeeeeeee-haaaaaa!!

njskier 01-06-2007 4:46 AM

Wow, 2006 was quite a year for the NJ crew!

Wakeboarding has now become more recognized in New Jersey. Wakeboarding stories have been featured twice in the Philadelphia Inquirer, and also in Wakeboarding magazine thanks to everyone's help, including the special talents of Jeff Barton!

With today's temps reaching the mid-to-upper 60's, it won't be long until were out tearing-up the water once again.

I, for one, am looking forward to another stellar year of riding with family and friends.

The New Jersey Riders 2007 thread has now begun!

njladydriver 01-06-2007 6:34 AM

Happy 2007 everyone! Hope this wakeboarding year will be as good as last year. Don't know how to top it though, it was a good one.

H&K (hugs & kisses)
D

midwesty 01-06-2007 7:44 AM

well...this might ruffle some feathers but ..

why dont you guys post this in the Wake Events or Find a Third forums?

i have never understood why your last thread was never moved. anyways, have a great year!

newmy79 01-06-2007 3:34 PM

Why don't you not pay attention to it an mind your own business. We are all friends here and we like to keep abreast of all the news with each other, so be an ass in some one else's thread... Have a nice year!

summerryder 01-06-2007 6:47 PM

don't forget to add that we're neither focusing on a specific event nor are we frequently looking for thirds.

But that does bring me to an interesting point. While the original thread was meant to be a line of communication among our region's riders, so much more came from it. We connected with people that had a similiar passion. New friends from all over this area began to ride together. That thread was so much more dynamic than merely seeking out a third or holding an event. In short, this thread served the purpose that theWakeworld message board was orginally intended to do: It's brought people together in an effort to grow the stoke for riding.

Happy New Year! Go EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

midwesty 01-06-2007 6:51 PM

ok whatever.. and i wasnt being an ass..i can be if you want.

i look forward to another 1k thread

good day

eustace 01-06-2007 8:12 PM

Well this is an interesting start to the 2007 thread, but as JB so eloquently stated the Jersey Riders threads are about so much more then a couple topics. They take in a full year of activity on and off the water and serve as an avenue for anyone to join in the scene.

So Jonny, if you find yourself back East, drop a post and we’d be happy to give you a pull.

Live Well, E

E - A - G - L - E - S........ EAGLES!!!!!!

midwesty 01-06-2007 8:20 PM

ok..fine, do what you fellas want...come to vegas and i will do the same

summerryder 01-06-2007 8:43 PM

Anyone here going to the game tomorrow? I'll be there about 11 AM!

njskier 01-07-2007 5:06 AM

Oh man, JB old pal got any tickets you want to sell? That's awesome that you're going, and what a game to go to.

Alex, just read your last post on our old thread in the archives. Using your old board on a slider, huh? So I guess the slider is the winter project, right? We need details! (size, shape, floating or fixed, etc.)

Justin, Michele and myself hit the NYC boat show yesterday. Big display of wake machines from CC, MC and BU. I talked to the owner of SAN-BAR marina from Lake Hopatcong (BU dealer). He definitely wants to get involved in our 2007 wakefest. Said he'd make us some banners and donate some stuff, too. He may want to bring a boat down for display as well.

Also made nice-nice with Joe who works part-time for the Long Island MC dealer. He's also a rider at Greenwood lake with other riders up there. We'll definitely have to hook-up with those guys this summer!

Michele, post some pics from the show for everyone to see.

michelelef 01-07-2007 9:25 AM

I am very happy to see the 2007 thread up and running (and it loads on our computer so much faster-lol).

Last year was an amazing season and I look forward to a great 2007 season with all of you as well. Speaking of the upcoming season...is it too early to mention our wakeboarding goals?? (keeping with the theme of New Year's resolutions) I found setting personal goals on last year's thread definitely helped me focus on my progression.
Anyone??

Also, here are the pics from the NYC boat show yesterday. What a great time we had and all the dealers were very friendly and very interested to hear of our tight crew in NJ.

And of course...GO EAGLES!!!!!

New Anniversary edition of the Malibu VLX...

The Mastercraft Crossover...very strange to look at since it looks like a fishing boat

Mastercraft X-star on a rotating display...

Ran into Cole in Times Square while he was working...Random...those NJ riders are everywhere!!!

michelelef 01-07-2007 9:30 AM

Damn 150kb minumum...here's the pics..

njladydriver 01-07-2007 9:33 AM

Would love to see a few pics of the show! What do the 2007 SANTE's look like (hehehe)

As soon as Alex, JB and with help from SOS, hash out the details, we'll all be able to finally jump in and get the ball rolling.
I can't wait!!

Go Giants!!!!

newmy79 01-07-2007 9:36 AM

Haha! I knew he'd come back and look to see if any "feathers were ruffled"..

Anywho, 2006 was another great year and I'm looking forward to 2007. The boat show was a great start to this boarding season, and Michele, Dave, and I had a good time and met some more people to enjoy talking with about this great sport.

How about us seeing Cole in Times Square, so weird. We were walking across the street and I spotted his green/white Jet Pilot hat he won at the '06 Wakefest right away!! I'm like that's COLE!

Oh and Dave, thanks for the DVD swap, I watched the first disk of Encore last night. Getting myself motivated since we have no snow....

Have fun at the Eagles game JB! Go Birds..

newmy79 01-07-2007 9:48 AM

We didn't take many pictures of boats unfortunately. And we didn't take any of the CC's. Come to think of it, as I was looking at them they had al these damn stands all over about the boats and you couldn't get a pic of the boat.

But Doreen, I know you know what the 07's look like already.

(Message edited by newmy79 on January 07, 2007)

Happy New Year folks...How bout them PATS!!!

njskier 01-07-2007 6:19 PM

Ah, the EAGLES win after a nail-biter right to the bitter end............man that David Akers is an awesome kicker. And how about Garcia.....6 wins in a row! All we need is 3 more! Go EAGLES!

Doreen, the new Nautiques look awesome! The 210 is wider now, lots more interior room. I should have grabbed a brochure for you, sorry. Give Lou a call if you need more info. www.offshoremarinenj.com

Jeff Z, nice of you to check in! Look forward to catching-up with you this summer at wakefest.

nj_alex 01-07-2007 6:20 PM

Oh yeah. This thread is only two days old and it's already pulsing with activity. Gotta love it.

My initial response to jonny's post was, I admit, emotional; like Justin's. But my Vulcan training
quickly took-over, clarity of thought prevailed and my thoughts became reasoned; Like JB's. And that's where
my thought processes pretty-much ended. But then Eustace came along and not only applied controlled
clarity of thought, he also extended the hand of friendship. Nicely done Eustace. Nicely done.

Instead of the boat show, Doreen and I ate at Wo Hop and then strolled around Chinatown and Little Italy.
On the way home we drove through Times Sqaure, but we weren't lucky enough to see Cole and his hat!

Slider plans Dave? Nope. I don't have any slider plans. The sliders are already built! I was recently
speaking to one of our crew, and it appears that this person is seriously considering buying a wave runner.
If this happens, and if this person is willing to tow the wave runner to Manahawkin, we can hit Island
Surf & Sail's pre-existing slider park! I'm even thinkinig about getting my old boat ship-shape again so
we would have a floating home base out there in the middle of the shallow, salty bay. Stay tuned for further deatils!

Also Dave, I talked to the guy from San-Bar Marina last year when he was hosting the Gerry Nunn clinic.
I know I saved his info and he would probably be one of my calls this year.

Justin & Michele, no pictures of the Correct Crafts?? You're not going over to the "dark side" are you?
Goals for 2007? Sheesh. I never met any of my goals for 2006! If I hope to ever advance I really think
I need to go for some pro lessons somewhere.

Good to see you checking-in Jeff Z. Coming down to this year's wakefest again?

And speaking of the wakefest, I have a lot of thoughts and I'm going to post a date for a team meeting
soon. Hopefully everyone will be able to attend. Decisions have to start being made.

The Eagles played a better game than The Giants and they deserved the win. Congratulations Eagle fans.

holiday13 01-08-2007 7:03 AM

Hey everybody, I just read in another thread that there will be a wakeboard tour this summer in PA, with one stop hitting my home turf on Lake Wallenpaupack. I would love to invite everyone up the to house but the casa is a bit small. If people are interested though, there is a great camp ground right across the lake from me with boat docks and I would love to host a big BBQ the weekend of the event. I have plenty of tie up room on the dock for multiple boats. I am not sure where on the lake they are going to hold it as most of the lake gets chewed up with chop quite quickly, but the lake is not that big, you can be end to end in 15 minutes, but it would be a fun time.

berzurkur 01-08-2007 10:03 AM

Happy New Year!

Hello all, a friend of mine in Sacramento told me to look up this thread once I moved to New York. He thought you guys might have a good knowledge of decent lakes to ride in Central New York. Any thoughts or recommendations I can look into up here? Also, how far of a trip is it to some good water in NJ?

holiday13 01-08-2007 12:20 PM

If you are in Syracuse there should be some good riding on lake Skinetals (spelling?). My godparents live in Camilis and I remember seeing a lot of ski boats on that lake. You are probably a good 3 to 4 hours from a lot of the riding in NJ but you would be cruising right by my lake house in PA to get to NJ if you want a pull, check an atlas for Lake Wallenpaupack, just east of Scranton PA. I am guessing maybe 2 hours from Syracuse.

harlemice 01-08-2007 3:30 PM

Hey ya'll, Justin and Michelle you guys got that pic up there pretty quick huh? Not my best angle I must say, but it was cool seeing you guys. To everyone else, Alex, Doreen, Doug, Charles, Kevin, how's things? Holidays over, and now I'm just waiting for some snow so Justin and Michelle can take me riding. I was in Mexico for a while, did I mention that. As soon as I can get a new computer (my old one is fried) I'll post some cool pics. Hope to see see ya'll soon. Peace

njladydriver 01-08-2007 6:07 PM

Gavin, I'm sure we would all be interested in the Lake Wallenpaupack tour stop. Please make a note to keep us informed once it gets closer. I have my ways of convincing Alex to tow the boat here or there!

Holvy....I have a 12 year old that has that stream of yours beat!! Hehehehe

njskier 01-09-2007 3:37 PM

Gavin,

I'd be interested in that INT tour stop at Lake Wally! Let us know what date it will be as soon as you find out. (list of local hotels/inns would be good, too)

Doreen, It would be cool if the NJ riders posse went up and invaded the lake! We have some good riders that may want to compete.

wakescene 01-10-2007 11:58 AM

Wow,
A Cole Sighting
Football games
Wakefest talk
Holvy trying to break the "peeing for distance" record
INT talks on Lake Wally!
One of us could be treading towards the darkside and getting a wave runner?I'll bet I know who it is!!!

Were only 10 days into the new year and 5 days into our 2007 thread and it's already looking to be a HUGE Wakeboard season for NJ! Have I mentioned that I am going to try and keep up with all of this on WakeboardNJ.com!

dmayer84 01-11-2007 6:35 PM

I have a house up on Lake Wallenpaupack, well not on it but 5 mins away. I would definitely go to the INT tour, If anyone needs any information about places up there I'll get together what I know about different hotels and such.

zuka666 01-14-2007 8:59 AM

To all the Eagles fans, I poured some beers down my neck for you folks last night...All we can do now is wait for SF to bite the bullet!

Dave & Alex, I finally have net service at my fingertips 24/7 so I'll keep in the loop of what's going on. I'm looking forward to Round 2 of East/West this summer, hopefully we'll have some sunshine this year.

Will keep in touch, --JZ

zuka666 01-16-2007 5:00 PM

What a game

njskier 01-16-2007 5:33 PM

Jeff, I care not to discuss that last penalty that killed our 4th-down conversion. Plus the fact the Reid decided to PUNT after that in hopes of getting the ball back with less than about 2 mins. left.

Credit to the Eagles for keeping the game real close. We seem to be good at letting games slip away by 3 points right at the buzzer!

BTW, your PATS will be done after this weekend!!!

zuka666 01-16-2007 5:38 PM

That's what San D thought

holiday13 01-16-2007 6:29 PM

That game was a classic example of how refs can change the outcome of a game. Sure, the saints are a human interest story, but that does not mean that the game should be called their way. Every one of Reggie Bush's big runs, you could see a blatant hold in the background, blatant. But hey, I look at it this way, it just freed up my next three weekends!

nj_alex 01-16-2007 7:29 PM

Here's some pretty cool news. Some how I over-looked this, but eagle-eyed Doreen spotted something
very cool in the current issure of Wakeboarding Magazine. On the bottom of page 72 in the Odds & Ends
section it says:

"Check-out the new website of the New Jersey East-West Wakefest at www.njwakefest.com
The event, which is the brainchild of former WBM editor Jeff Barton, will enter its second year this summer."

Oh yeah! Is that cool or what??!! Sheesh. I better do some work on the website and bring it a little
more up to date.

On another note, does anyone have or know of a used 19' or 20' trailer for sale for my old Sport Craft?
I have to get one pretty pronto.

njskier 01-17-2007 3:40 PM

I'll keep an eye out for a trailer, Alex.
What's the plan for the Sportcraft??? Do you just need a trailer to move it once? If so, I could most likely borrow one for you.

nj_alex 01-17-2007 7:19 PM

At the very least I need to move the ol' Sport-Craft closer to the property line so the bulkhead guy
can get his machines into the backyard. Yes, this can probably be done with a borrowed trailer. But if
I can find a decent used galvanized trailer at the right price I'll buy it. I've made some calls, including
Louie up in Branchville, but so far I haven't found anything promising. I've never attempted, on my own,
moving a boat from up off of cinder blocks and onto a trailer. I think I'm going to need a floor jack
or a hydraulic bottle jack. That's what I used to see the old timers use.

zuka666 01-17-2007 7:28 PM

Nice floor jack $300
Handful of 2x4's $30
Two 30 rack's of Bud $38.99
And a couple of Peep's to push the project off until next Year...

wakescene 01-17-2007 7:41 PM

Perhaps one of the local marina's would help you move to the front for a fee, this would give you some time to find a trailer. heres a shocker...I have moved a boat from this position to a trailer before. Actually Karen and I did this 2 years ago. not a difficult thing, you just have to take your time. I'm avail to help if you need it, just ask.

zuka666 01-17-2007 7:53 PM

Trying to create a user name and profile for NJ.com...Not easy to locate "create user ID/ profile" please help!

holiday13 01-18-2007 6:11 AM

Alex, I have helped a buddy move a couple boats from blocks to a trailer (he is a boat mechanic), piece of cake, if you get a trailer let me know, I have the jack we need to do it, would take 15 minutes max. Let me know, more than happy to help! Really just need three or four of us to be safe.

Dave, time to "update your profile"!

wakescene 01-18-2007 9:54 AM

Jeff, Here's the link... http://www.wakeboardnj.com/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=register

KG

KG - Love ya baby!

nj_alex 01-18-2007 7:46 PM

I totally appreciate all of the help and all of the offers of help. The price of the Craig's List trailer
is right, but the seller doesn't have a title for it, so there goes that. The crew up at Off Shore Marine
in Branchville probably have something for me, I just have to go up there to check-out their offerings.

So how's this sound...providing I have a trailer by next Saturday, after the wakefest meeting at Chickie &
Pete's, anyone who wants to help move the Sport-Craft off the blocks and onto the trailer can caravan
down to 60 Sylvia. It could sort of be the party ofter the meeting. The men will be outside wearing leather
work gloves, using tools, drinking canned beer, swearing, smoking cigars and doing boat stuff with the sons
in the background watching and learning, while the women and any little kids are in the house in their
socks with the heat on, drinking hot chocoate, eating desserts and yacking about Hollywood entertainment
with The Lifetime Channel on in the background. But of course, this is all contingent upon me having a
trailer by then.

Yo Dave, that's a crazy new boat you got there. Congratulations. I've never been pulled behind an X-Star,
but I remember the wake behind the X-Star at the last Wild Bill event and it looked big! Especially
when it would wash up and over the back of my beached Super Air!
Here's Kevin behind that X-Star waiting to start his run.

See what happens when you have couple of wobbley pops, you need to edit your posts...Sorry

dmayer84 01-19-2007 7:11 AM

Alex,
My parents just sold their boat this past summer and they didnt have a title for their trailer either, just the registration. There was no problem for the next owner to register it. I know for one of our utility trailers there is no title for it as well, the registration doubles as the title for the most part. We contacted the guy that got the boat and trailer and he said he had no problem registering it.

~Dave

holiday13 01-19-2007 8:33 AM

Alex, if you do a bill of sale with him listing sale date, price, vin, buyer and seller info you should be fine to register it, DMV is no where near as difficult on trailers as they are on cars.

holiday13 01-19-2007 8:34 AM

Dave M, where are you on lake wally? I am sure I have seen your boat up there.

dmayer84 01-19-2007 8:56 AM

Gavin,
I have a slip over at tanglwood near where the old white beauty used to be, the hotel that was just torn down. Have a house in tanglwood. Where on the lake are you?

holiday13 01-19-2007 9:09 AM

Within a mile of there, head through the narrow by the little island going toward the river and make a hard right going to the nature preserve, I am about 2/3 the way down that shore line and usually ride that channel on the weekends. Navy blue Tige, mine has a monster tower, there is a twin right across from you with the factory Tige tower.

wakecis 01-19-2007 9:21 AM

good morning vietnam!
happy new years to all. glad to see the 2007 list up and running and can't wait for another summer on the water.

i managed to squeeze in some riding over christmas. i got a handful of lessons from dean lavelle in boca raton. he seriously tweaked my edging skills. i've got some new gems in the bag and can't wait for april.

unless i'm confused, CONGRATULATIONS! Dave on the x-star. that boat is out of control and throws a meaty wake!

glad to see the NJ wake community is alive and well. the websites, events, new boats and new projects are ridiculous. somebody let me know if there is anything i can do to contribute.

charles

njskier 01-19-2007 2:17 PM

Gavin and Dave M. are correct, there are no titles for trailers in NJ. Just need a NOTARIZED bill-of-sale from the previous owner. The certificate of origin from the manufacturer would help, but not necessary (i think). For $300 that trailer sounds like a deal.

Speaking of deals, yes it's true I did trade-up the Maristar for an X-star. Couldn't pass-up the deal, just had to drive out to Cincinatti, OH last weekend to get it. But the x-star is here at its new home in NJ, waiting for spring.
Here's a few more pics.

Alex, I looked at that orange x-star, but I really wanted black.

njladydriver 01-19-2007 7:09 PM

Congrats Dave! It's a beauty! What was wrong with your old boat? Wasn't that a new boat?
Kyle will be doing off axis 5's before you know it behind this one! And you went all the way to OH to get it??!! I guess I can relate...I've been known to travel clear across state for a new coach bag!
Good luck with it.
I was ready to trade in the 2002 SANTE for a new 2006 at the wakefest last year, but I don't think Alex will ever part with the "Widow Maker"!!

I'm putting out an APB for the following people, JB & Jim Barcliff. If anyone knows of thier whereabouts, report it immediatley!

(Message edited by njladydriver on January 19, 2007)

Doreen, there was nothing wrong with the Maristar, did it for a few reasons.......

1. The Maristar served me well for 2 years, 118 hours of running time and I got what I paid for it 2 years ago. If I had waited a few more years, it would have depreciated more in value.

2. Always liked the X-star, just thought they were too far out of reach for me.

3. Got this one for a hell of a deal!

PS-Tell Alex to check out those new Super Airs! They keep getting better all the time!

There are titles for trailers in NJ, I have one for the trailer for my MC but there arent titles for all trailers, it just varies.

I called about the $300 Craig's list trailer and talked to the seller. He said he had a buyer from Philly calling
him all week and coming in on Saturday to buy it, but if I got there first he'd sell it to me! The trailer is
at his parents house and he wouldn't be there for the transaction, but I could give the money to his parents.
$300 is a good price for a trailer, but you know the old saying, when something seems too good to be true,
it probably is. Something about this $300 trailer just didn't pass the stink test. I passed. I'll
probably be picking-up a trailer tomorrow from either Off Shore Marine in Branchville or Camp Marine right
across the street from Surf & Offshore. If I go to Camp Marine, you KNOW a trip to both SOS AND Frankie's
will be in order. Oh man. I haven't been to Frankie's since the night of the SOS Christmas
party. I think we got kind of loud in there that night, but my recollections of that evening are nebulous.

Sheesh. It's not "feasible" for Jeff Z. to drive five hours to help-out with my 1970 Sport-Craft, but Jeffyboy
is FLYING in tomorrow to hand wash and wax Dave's new X-Star. Maybe it's the wobbley pops talking.

Hey Charles, good to have you checkin' in. Dean Lavelle, huh? Wow. I think I have Dean Lavelle is in the old
Sidewayz video SWITCH. I think in addition to landing blind he would also approach some tricks blind and
then land regular. I think he was also wearing a white vest in that section! Something tells me JB probably
has a Dean Lavelle story or two.

Finally, for the first time in forever I updated www.njwakefest.com a little bit. I added JB's WBM write-up.

Hey Dave,

Nice ride for sure.
That makes me want to upgrade!! Now the wait until spring to give it a ride. Just hope for an early spring. We have not had much of a winter so maybe it will go away soon.

bwood 01-20-2007 4:01 AM

Dave, that boat is sweet. The black is more upkeep, but I'm sure your up for the task.

I'm with you George mild winter, mild spring. Come on global warming(just kidding).

eustace 01-20-2007 5:54 AM

Nice Boat Dave, Congratulations!

Alex, you are more then welcome to use my floor jack / jack stands, and whatever else you can think of that I have. But I’m sorry to say we will have to head home after Chickies next weekend (prior obligations) and won’t be able to make the rising of the Sport-Craft at 60 Sylvia.

Bring on the spring! My dry suit will be in next week..

wakecis 01-20-2007 6:20 AM

yeah brian! way to step it up. 95 super sport is a sick boat. glad to see your still hard in the game! can't wait to session the new boat just like the last!

hey alex. i wouldn't rush into a new air nautique. lavelle had just gotten an '07 at his place. the boat is similar, obviously newer and a little nicer, but he said the old nautique wake had better shape with more modest weighting. the '07 had more potential but required more weight to get there.

as for the blind approach - yeah, it was called a slurpee and i had the privilege of watching one being thrown down in person. funny trick.

ps. i checked out some of the new ronix gear. i don't advocate buying new gear all the time, but if anybody is legitimately in the market for a board or bindings, i think ronix will live up to the hype - really nice equipment. similar to hyperlite/liquid force designs but much lighter.

njskier 01-20-2007 7:42 AM

Woody, your welcome to session the x-star anytime. I wanted to ride behind your VLX, just never seemed to catch you at the right time.

You have a Super sport now? Correct Craft, right? Very cool, another boat we can all try out!
(We need pics!!!)

newmy79 01-20-2007 8:15 AM

Well the cat's out of the bag huh Dave? Michele and I are as excited as Dave for his new purchase. We found out on the ride up to the Javitz Center for the NYC boat show. With all of the rumors going around about Dave looking for a new boat on the MC website, you know me, I had to ask! And he confessed!

What a beauty that boat is, and I can not wait to get pulls behind it! This upcoming 2007 is shaping up extremely nice so far, and we haven't even begun riding!

Jeff, I know you love the pats, and I hate the Colts, but I cannot see the Pats win another SB. So I am hoping the Colts pull through along with the Saints, and the Saints end up with it all!!! Sorry!

Charles, can't wait to see your new tricks! That's a nice offseason getaway, to be able to board with Dean Lavelle. You can't beat that! Glad to see you checking in.

WOODY! How's it going, haven't seen you post in forever, but I haven't been on much either. Let's see some pics of that new boat. I'm not familiar with the Super Sport, is it s CC like Dave said?

Doreen, I have another APB. Doug!? Where's Doug at? Holla!!

Hope all is well with everyone!

njladydriver 01-20-2007 10:37 AM

Hey Justin,
Doug is in fact alive and well! Alex has spoken to him recently. He just hasn't posted in awhile!
Top 2 is still JB and Jim B!

I miss everyone!

bwood 01-21-2007 9:55 AM

Thanks guys I'm stoked to have a boat I don't have to be so anal about. The boat is a 95 Correct Craft Super Sport aka super air. The super air hull has been around since 95 and has basically been unchanged until 07, It's the same hull without all the bells and whistles. No ballast system, tower or PP. The boat needs a little tlc, but a least I Own it not the bank.

Alex, if you advice on weighting the boat, I'd love to hear it. Like how much weight I need to use and where to put to get the best wake?

The trailer has a GVW of 6000lbs. Does that include the weight of the trailer itself or does that mean that it will hold 6000. Because the boat with gas and gear is only around 3500lbs. and I would like to leave some weight on the boat since I live so close and the Titan pulls it with ease. Also does anybody know someone that sandblasts and repaints trailers? I have one quote, but would like an least one more.

holiday13 01-21-2007 4:29 PM

Woody, the GVWR is the combined weight of the boat and trailer, so with that trailer you are probably 1500 to 2000 pounds. I just had my chassis powder coated by a company in windgap PA, to sandblast and coat the chassis was $500 if that helps, and although not as long there is probably a heck of a lot more work in my chassis (see pics at http://imageevent.com/holiday1304/buggyreassembly?n=0). Company did a great job, slow but great job! If you need their contact info let me know. Also, if you need ideas on an automated balast system I can help as I think I made all the mistakes on mine.

njskier 01-21-2007 7:37 PM

Woody, nice boat! Looks like it was well taken care of. (is that a California reg. on the hull?)

Hope to see you out on the river alot this summer.

Gavin, $500 to sandblast and powdercoat a chassis seems like a really good price. That would be a good deal for Woody.

wakescene 01-22-2007 8:24 AM

Yes very nice boats Dave and Woody! The Deleware is gonna think it's got a few more Tugs traversing is waterway!

nj_alex 01-22-2007 7:57 PM

Oh yeah...another Nautique in the line-up. Nice choice woody. Congratulations. And it looks well taken care
of for an 11-year-old+ boat. The hull surely looks just like my SANTE's. And judging by that jacked-up
cushion under the shrink wrap in the first picture I believe it's a v-drive too. Nice. But what's with
the bow rails and stern rails? Are those OE?
Weighting? Well, my boat has two rear factory ballast tanks and one center factory ballast tank. I'll
have to dig-out my owner's manual to find out exactly how much weight they add when full. In addition to
those I put a 260lb fat sack up the middle/front of the boat and 155lb fat brick behind the driver's seat.
Then throw in 39 gallons of gas, a shizload of gear, a cooler full of beer and a handful of people from
our crazy crew and the ol' SANTE kicks-up a pretty mean wake. Back in shallow Turtle Cove I also used to
put a 750lb sack across the back, but since coming to the river I haven't needed it. I really look
forward to checking your boat out. Are you bringing it to Chickie & Pete's this Saturday?
Well, I did it. I bought a used trailer. It's kind of old with a touch of rust here and there, but it should
do the job. So if anyone feels like driving an hour south after Chickie & Pete's on Saturday to help me move
the old C-Eagle up on to my new old trailer, come on. I tried posting a picture of it, but I couldn't
figure-out how to reduce its size.

bwood 01-23-2007 1:37 PM

Alex, according to correct craftfan.com your stock ballast is 820+260+155=1235, your v-drive tanks are 260 each and the center is 300. So it sound like as long as I run somewhere around those numbers I'll have a big fattie. The boat is a v-drive and they still make the super sport(at least they did in 06), it's the san without the tower, ballast or pp. The hand rails came on the boat until around 99 or so. Check out http://www.correctcraftfan.com/reference/1995_brochure/ it is a good website.Click on the reference tab on the top of the page.

Galvin, I was quoted $950(sandblast,primer,paint) from one guy who came to look at it and $500 from another over the phone. Nether of the will take the boat off the trailer, I have to do it. Marinas want anywhere from 230-280 to put the boat on blocks and store it for a week, but when they put the docks in it only cost 100 to rent a slip for a week. So it sounds like I going to wait for spring. As far as ballast systems, I was looking into something like http://www.make-a-wake.com/ and going with the pro-x sacs.http://www.wakecord.com/ProX-sacks.htm (2) 400's in the rear and the 680 in the ski locker and 200 or so in steel or lead in the bow. Somewhere around 1700 when completely full should rock the house. Any input you can give Galvin would be appreciated.

Good eye Dave, the boat is from Colorado.

holiday13 01-23-2007 1:51 PM

I did my ballast system like the rival with aerator pumps. I am going to change it this spring to a mix of the rival and make-a-wake. I am going to use aerator pumps for the rear two sacs, then use a simer to fill a front v shaped sac under the front seats. To drain I am going to stay with the aerator since they are already wired and plummed. The issue with the aerator for the front is it is just too far a run for them to fill quickly, probably 3 to 4 times longer than the rear. I started with dual 550 in the rear, dual 350 in the front and a 440 in the walkway, it was way too much in my boat (Dave W can attest to that). This past season I went back to 350 rears and about 250 fronts and that worked much better with my boat. For hardware let me know, I have a freind who works for a marine distributor and got me all the parts cheap. 8 stainless through hull fittings add up quick for the drain and vent lines!

njskier 01-23-2007 4:00 PM

Alex, I'll come down and give you a hand with the sport-craft. I've got a floor jack, bottle jack, ratchet straps, and 2 furniture dollies. If you have some plywood that may help.

See you at Chickie and Petes at noon.

wakescene 01-23-2007 9:12 PM

WOW woody, 1700lbs and then gear, gas and good folks...that won't be a that will be large wake, I have ridden alex's and it's mighty!

holiday13 01-24-2007 12:42 PM

If anyone is interested, I have a couple comp passes to the AC boat show. Shoot me an email if you would like some. I will be there Friday as will Dave W.

bwood 01-24-2007 1:42 PM

Kg, I had close to 3000 one day in the Malibu with the wedge, but this hull looks like it's a lot easier to sink so I'm sure I don't need that much.
