Nice catch on the Swan Walt!
|
Great shots Bakes and Walt... very nice. I drove 6 hours to shoot Roseate Spoonbills and ended up encountering an epic fog blanket that never lifted. I had never seen anything like it and I didn't see one Spoonbill. So, I made the best of it and got this shot.

Well, I've decided to contribute.. But I'm too cheap to pay for flickr.. So the images are small-ish. :/

Two 580 EXII's on this one. Mainlight off camera with a diffuser dome, "hair light" under the flower had a dark pink gel on it to backlight the stem and back of the flower a bit. This was a 5D Mark II and a 100 2.8L IS Macro Lens. |
Nice image Rob, I'm starting to play with my Macro a little more lately. Kind of fun.

Love the post. Just a couple recent shots with my new mark 4. Some Resolution lost as you know, but still like them.
|
Storm shot... the wind was 45 MPH+ and a gutter blew off a house nearby and nearly killed my ass!! Set-up... Canon 5D Mark 2 with 24-70 (I used this lens over a 16-35 because the lens hood is much deeper and far better in rain), generic lightning trigger, RRS BH-55 head with a Gitzo 3531 XLS tripod. I had all of my weight holding the tripod steady and just let the lightning trigger fire the camera. This was one of my last shots. Cranked the ISO up to 400 which really brought out the evil in the clouds.

Nothing much compared to the shots i've seen lately. Haven't posted in here since probably....shoot...last fall? And man the pictures just keep getting better! Well the rain and clouds FINALLY lifted here in Minnesota and we got 95 degrees and sun yesterday, and again today. Here's a pic I got with the GoPro. Like I said, nothing special, but it's a kinda cool perspective nonetheless. This thread makes me want to break out the T1i again! So little free time... :(

Sweet shot Jason. Your loving that camera I see.
Couple Macro shots. |
Randy, those macros are amazing!!
Yup I am loving the D7000, but I am being pulled toward the soon to be announced Sony A77!!! I will be good and wait to see what others think of it, but it sounds amazing! |
though a77 specs sound impressive, why would you buy a camera from a company that makes tvs, stereos, walkmans, etc.? stick w/ those that make cameras.
|
Because those that make cameras keep making them like SLR's made 30 years ago! Nothing wrong with embracing new technology if it can make the photo taking process easier.
Note I didn't say make you a better photographer, being a good photographer has nothing to do with the equipment, but if the equipment makes it easier for you to get the shot then that can't be a bad thing. And Sony makes Nikons sensors for them, so they must know something ;-) |
yeah but nikon doesn't make glass for sony. ;)
|
But Zeiss does ;-)
|
Nice shot JJ!
