Boat decision and advice please

Hey guys looking for some advice from people who have owned boats for a while. First off I have never owned a boat before just several waverunners, but looking into getting my first one! Need some tips on what to look for on a used boat ive been searching pretty hard for a few months and found a few, but only one has my attention yet so far. Looking at 2001 MC X10 with 393 hours, motor is a 5.7 indmar 5.7l 315 HP selling for 24,500. Now im by no means a pro but enjoy every minute of being dragged around i've heard good things about the boat but hit and miss with the wake not being that great. Im used to being towed by a 09 malibu wakesetter vlx pretty sweet boat but im not spending 60k. Looking around at a price range of 25-30k more towards the 25 mark of course. If anyone would like to give a few pointers to a newbie I would greatly appreciate it. Heres the link of the boat to. http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=38506

Thanks, Matt.

The stitching I wouldn't worry about but the big dent in the hull would put me off.

For 30k you may be able to get into an older Xstar or SAN or a bigger boat like a Sanger V230 or similar...without dents in the hull

The 215 is an incredible boat:

That price range - '01-'04 SAN, Wakesetter VLX & the 205V hulled version of whatever X boat was each year, XStar/Star/X2 ect....

I say this only because when I purchased my last boat, a 2003 SAN....it came down to those three boats(SAN/VLX/X2).....;)

Still have it....still love it....still think those other 2 boats kick tail.

Sanger 215 > X10

My 2004 MC X2 has 1000 hours and runs like a top. 500 is nothing if it was treated normally.

That X2 is a pretty good deal. Sangers are top notch and if I was going to buy another one it would most likely be the V215.

The 215 is an amazing boat. Decent wake with factory ballast and takes additional weight VERY well. Handles as good (if not better) than most any other v-drive out there. That boat will not disappoint in any way. I love my V215 and argue that you can't get more value anywhere else. I would put it up against any boat in its category.

500 hours is nothing. especially if you start equating hours in a boat to miles in a car. Most of those hours are gonna be idle speed, the rest, likely between 2000-3000 RPM. If it was maintained regularly, you'll have no issue.

That equates to 83-90 hours a year... really not bad at all. I'm sure many others can relate and do more but this past week, tuesday to sunday, I did 11 hours...

Everything Will said and more. The V215 is a do everything well boat, can't say enough about how good and reliable those are. And again 500 hours is nothing at all for an '07

Hey guys thanks for the input and opinions I really appreciate it. Going to keep searching, really want to check out the sanger its the closest to me, but theres no number to contact the guy!!! It will for sure be between MC X2, SAN, and the Sanger 215.

Sanger makes a solid boat and is one of the best 'bang for your buck' options out there now days. 02-04 VLX would also be a great choice if you're trying to say under 30k. At 30k there are tons of great boats out there.

I put 90hrs on mine from August 12' to June 13'

Talked to the guy about the sanger going to try and check it out soon. Says recently rebuilt motor due to dropping 2 cylinders last season after he took it in for routine oil change.... Says its the mercruiser and the dealer is back the rebuilt motor for 3 years.... Dont know about that one... seems kind of fishy.

Does anybody have any input in the supra launch, its the 3rd craigslist link.
