Tower Speaker Dilemma??

Well I have been trying to get my stereo put together for a while and now have a new dilemma to deal with. I ordered the Kicker KMT6's a few month's ago but havn't had a chance to install them yet. Now the more I read about them vs. HLCD's the more I am thinking about going with a pair of Krypt 8" HLCD's which I can probly do for about $400 including the cans. I am just wondering if it is worth the extra $200.
A couple things I read recently said the Kickers are not that great at 80' where as any HLCD is pretty much clear at 80'. Honestly sound at riding distance and speed is a priority.
I have a ARC audio 1000.2 amp so I dont think power will be an issue to run the Krypts. Now i know that some have been critical of the Krypt speakers but they are pretty much all i can fit in my budget right now. Yes, if I had the money I would go for the Exiles, but I have to stay in my budget. I also did consider the Kickers 6500.2's, but after having to buy cans and everything else I know I will be around $650 to $700.
Just wanted some input as I am looking to get stuff done by Memorial weekend.

If you have the $200 to spend then yes go grab the Krypt HLCD. HLCD's are just that much better than the conventional speaker. The KMT6's do have a horn which helps but it is still night and day difference. Last summer I went from a pair of KMT6's to a pair of 8" Krypt HLCD's difference was amazing! If you have the $200 extra to spend then do it! If not you will def be happy with the KMT6's in the mean time. Not that it matters much but here are mine mounted in some Krypt can's.
