Can't land spins any more

I have been able to do 3's fs and bs fairly consistently. This summer i switched from my hyperlite era to a company severance which I love but I can not seem to put it all together. I have been riding the severence for 2 weeks. Is this a case of me getting used to the new board or am I just getting old? I went 0-10 last weekend and retired to clear my head. All my other tricks are still on point.

Difference in swing weight may be a factor.

Likely it's the release off the wake that is slightly different, and it's throwing you off. Pop, then initiate the spin. You were comfortable on when the Era would release, so you began to not even notice when you'd initiate your rotation.

Odd thing, I had troubles spinning the Era a while back

I bet A-Dub is correct. Also, how are you falling, there is a chance that if the board is releasing a bit later than your used to your rushing the spin. If you getting kicked off axis (the wrong way) chances are your rushing the spin due to the change it the release off the wake.

yea oddly enough I find spins to be the most affected tricks when changing boards, I think the precision of the timing is just more than other tricks so you need to get used to the release of your new board. I would say once you are used to the severance you shouldn't have any problems dialing it in. That board is super light also so the swing weight shouldn't be a factor.

Hey bob nice post. What the above said. I used to tell buddies to think 180 so your balance is in control but comit to a 3 and finish it. IMHO wake skills are usually stunted by our head second quessing our riming pop etc.

Good luck now post some pics of spins or falls! Later.
