Tower speaker wiring question

Tower is currently wired for two cans (had a pair JL 7.7's running back to a Clarion APX 490M on channel 1 and 2). So I assume 1 speaker per channel was running at 4ohm (The 7.7 cans got destroyed---Long Story... Just bought a pair of the Wet Sounds XS650 Double Barrel Speakers . Do i need to run more wire through the tower and connect each speaker to channel 1 and 2 (2 wires on channel 1 + and 2 wires on channel - etc. at 2 ohm) or can I connect the existing wire to 1 speaker and jump positive to positive and negative to negative on the second speaker with a small 2" peice or wire?

If each of those drivers are a 4 ohm load, wiring in parallel we achieve a 2 ohm load to the amp. If you run them in series you will have an 8 ohm load(not ideal). I would say wire them in paralell if your amp can handle it, most will. This usually will double your amps power output also. So what you do is positive to positive and negetive to negative between the two pods. Could'nt find the specs on Wetsounds site for those exact speakers, but i will assume they are just an xs-650 x2.

Thanks I didnt know if I could just jump the pods or if I had to make additional wire runs through the tower and run in parallel via 2 wires coming of the amp.

Thanks

That is not a Wet Sounds setup, but some retailer's cans loaded with Wet Sounds xs-650's, so you wouldn't find any specs on what is pictured, on Wet Sounds site. Are those Aerial or Monster cans?

The Clarion APX-490 looks like it will deliver 150 watts rms x 4 @ 2 ohms, so with one pod (2 speakers wired in parallel) on its own chnl, each speaker will net 75 watts rms.

You can parallel the speakers at the pods if you like.
