could somone measure the length of the mounting brackets for your swim platform? I've got a new teak swim platform off an 08 x1 for my 2000 xstar, but my mounting brackets seem like they are too short. the platform hangs over ~7 inches past the brackets. I'd like to know how long the mounting brackets for the newewr platforms are so I can get the right ones from my dealer. <BR> <BR>thank

I think you are good as you are: <BR> <BR>I just measured my 08 X1 platform w/ 08 brackets: overhang is about ~7 inches.

Don' waste time with screws. I had a bad experience where the platform on my 04 X-2 ripped off. FOr repair I opened up the brackets, drilled through the platform and used carraige bolts to secure it. No more worries from me.

Mine ripped off also. 06 X1

so I mounted the swim platform today on my original brackets, but I drilled an additional 5 holes per bracket, so I have almost double the scews holding it on. Hopefully that will be sufficient. Damn it looks good!
