My girlfriend and i work out at a local gym just about every other day. Because of work i didnt make it in today so she went with a good friend of mine. A guy who is in there almost every time we are walks up to her today and says finally decide to do a hard work out today? She replys what are you trying to say? Dude says well you look like you have gained abt 20 pounds since christmas..she just turned around and walked out..when she told me about it my first thought was to go knock his a** out. Im definately going to get him to apologize to her face....What he must not understand is that you NEVER say something like that to a woman, even if you were just joking 9 times out of 10 they will take it the wrong way and feel bad about themselves. I want to be civilized about it but im not sure what exactly to say to this guy with myself being 19 and him being in his early 30. Any ideas?

ponte_06_x2 02-03-2010 7:59 PM

just let it go man. you cant fix stupid in people. believe me. i know.

ponte_06_x2 02-03-2010 8:11 PM

i was thinking. if you want to say something to him. be cool and just say " hey man. what u said to my girlfriend really got to her. can you just be cool and say sorry next time you see her." make sure you do it when shes not around and dont tell her you asked him to . just dont try to be a hero. that way he doesn't think your trying to punk him <BR> <BR>(Message edited by ponte_06_x2 on February 03, 2010)

poser007 02-03-2010 8:14 PM

Is your gf attractive? Sometimes older guys think they still got game and end up saying really stupid things. I'd let it go, but if he approaches her again I'd flex some muscle because obviously he doesn't do it while you are around so he knows what he is doing.

tn_rider 02-03-2010 8:14 PM

thanks bro. prob what i will do

barry 02-03-2010 8:15 PM

What do <b><i>you</i></b> consider to be your options? <BR> <BR>(Message edited by barry on February 03, 2010)

iridelow1998 02-03-2010 8:44 PM

Let it go unless you are willing to get into it about something from the past. I can see if you were at the gym when he said it but 1-2 days later that conversation is guaranteed to go south. Unless you're built like a tank he'll probably think a 19 year old is trying to punk him no matter what your approach. I think he was trying to push up on her in your absence. Just my opinion from someone in his 30's.

lifetimewarranty 02-03-2010 9:08 PM

Let this one go, man. Ain't worth the stupidity you'd be involved with. Just tell her she is SO out of his league he just is an ass. <BR> <BR>You definitely don't want to get down to his level.

poser007 02-03-2010 9:41 PM

Actually I have a good idea. My daughter who is 15 was watching that cheerleading movie bring it on. Yeah I wasn't watching<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0> but it got me thinking, you should challenge him to a crump off. Exhibit A. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHXuDu6P5UI" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHXuDu6P5UI</a>

Flight, did you ask him if his girlfriend was hot? Does anyone respond no to that? Chase if she's really bummed out about it or it happens again, and you really want him to cut it out, talk to the gym staff, you can call that kind of thing harassment. Might get him kicked out, which wont make him think well of you, but you wont be seeing him around the gym anytime soon. Its kinda extreme, but an option.

salty87 02-04-2010 6:40 AM

you guys need some thicker skin. your gf should have told him to go smoke a pole. you should just laugh the next time you see him. <BR> <BR>he's the loser, don't crawl down to his level.

mammoth 02-04-2010 6:50 AM

Maybe you should talk to your girl about having the self confidence to brush off creepy old jerks and go about her business.

tn_rider 02-04-2010 7:55 PM

Ends up i didnt have to do anything! Dude walks up to her tonight while she is working out and before he could get anything out she says F*** OFF! Manager at the gym said he walked out saying that girl is crazy, girls in this town are so disrespectful.. No wonder he is single and has to hit on a 19 year old maybe he should learn some respect around women...and to answer your question yes she is gorgeous ha

gunz 02-04-2010 8:02 PM

pics of said gf so we can get a true sense of the situation <BR> <BR>Preferably a shot from the lake.....you know...<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

BAHAHA will see what i can do so can get an idea

denverd1 02-05-2010 9:19 AM

Just laugh at his ass next time you see him.

innov8 02-05-2010 10:16 AM

I wouldn't waste a minute of my time will a tool like that. <BR> <BR>Sounds like she can take care of herself, good for her telling him to f off.

notsobueno 02-05-2010 10:26 AM

Quoting Flight... <BR> <BR>"Sometimes older guys think they still got game and end up saying really stupid things." <BR> <BR>Sounds like experience talking? <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

jarrod 02-05-2010 10:34 AM

perfect ending

behindtheboat 02-05-2010 10:39 AM

If you were to do anything, it probably should have involved that Manager you brought up. Sounds like a situation that gym would want to thoroughly avoid and potentially bar him from coming anymore

skongolf 02-05-2010 10:57 AM

Sometimes accidentally dropping a 45lb plate on their foot works. Then they can't stick it in their mouth anymore.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0> <BR>I would have loved to have seen the guys face when he got told to F off!!!

steezyshots 02-05-2010 11:01 AM

I would point out his flaws next time you see him, Start convincing him he is balding

zo1 02-05-2010 11:10 AM

<b>Just laugh at his ass next time you see him.</b> <BR> <BR>Perfect response.

skull 02-05-2010 12:31 PM

Honestly, I think we need to see pre-Christmas pics and current pics to see if the dude's observation has any substance.

tn_rider 02-05-2010 3:12 PM

<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/4387/773393.jpg" alt="Upload"> this one is post christmas. obviously this guy is into a girl that is abt 90 pounds

poser007 02-05-2010 4:32 PM

lizzyb 02-05-2010 4:35 PM

Toilet with the seat up.. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

gunz 02-05-2010 4:51 PM

I need to see something in a bikini to really understand his motives....................<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>No really.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

brettw 02-05-2010 4:56 PM

It's funny about the toilet seat thing. I asked my wife why she never has once complained about the seat being up. She said it's no big thing and that I need it up to go most of the time and that's it no big deal to put it down. <BR> <BR>&amp; cute girlfriend. The guy was probably into her but just being an idiot. Maybe mention to him next time you see him, "You look like you're still working hard to get off all that X-mas weight you piled on. I know it's harder for you older guys, but keep it up." Smile and walk away.

tn_rider 02-05-2010 5:26 PM

ha she lives with her brother, prob would explain the toilet seat lol. unless there is something i havent noticed <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0> jk

tn_rider 02-05-2010 5:28 PM

and as for dude i will just let it go. pretty much guaranteed we would get into it and probably scrap. been in trouble for thinks like that in the past and im trying to stay out of trouble for my future

notsobueno 02-07-2010 1:07 AM

LizzyB....thanks for noticing. Really.

jason_ssr 02-07-2010 9:40 AM

meh, soak the seat down once and they stop complaining about you leaving it up... <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>LOL

02wakesettervlx 02-07-2010 9:55 AM

Wow, get over it. As an adult, you are going to have to deal with way more crap than some guy talking to your girlfriend. I measure people by their actions and the way they deal with situations. Anyone can be an idiot and throw down. If you are having a hard time with something like this, then you have a lot of growing up to do still. It takes a lot bigger person to walk away, than to throw down. Why would you even give this guy the satifaction of letting it bother you to the point of creating a post on WW about the incident?

tn_rider 02-07-2010 10:14 AM

my reason for posting was because i wanted to be civilized in the way i approached him, not fight. She ended up taking care of it herself and i didnt have to do anything..i do believe someone should teach him a lesson on how to be respectful toward women....and as for soaking the seat down that made me laugh out loud!!

barry 02-07-2010 2:47 PM

A female screaming obscenities commands respect? <BR> <BR>I think she handled it perfectly the first time.
