Two ways to make the image smaller:

Crop: which cuts out unwanted parts of the picture, leaves the resolution and detail alone

Resize: Leaves all the picture intact, just makes the entire picture be at a lower resolution. It also maintains the same aspect ratio (ratio of the width to height).

I like to use the picture viewer/editor called ACDsee. Then if I want to make a smaller version of a picture, I click on

Edit,
Resize
(type in the desired width, in pixels)
Save_as -> name_smaller

done

Rod

Is there a way to resize an entire folder of pictures instead of having to resize each picture one at a time?
|
If you own Photoshop CS or greater Dr. Browns image processor will do it.

Microsoft has a power tool image resizer that works wonderfully. You can grab as many photos as you want and right click, click resize and then choose what resolution you want the pictures. It's free and it works like a charm.

I use this, it's the bomb. You right click and resize.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe
