Just wondering what other people do when they wakeboard and you wear glasses. I have been using contacts, but have lost a few of them when I fell. Anybody have suggestions on how they do it?

I wear contacts and have only lost one contact in 4-5 years. I've taken some good faceplants with my eyes wide open too.

George, how is it that you are losing your contacts? I'll second Jeremy and vow for only losing one in two years...knock on wood

i started wearing my contacts after reading on this board about people doing it. best thing ever. i thought they'd come out on my first crash but i've maybe only lost one since i started. i don't care much as i use 2-week disposables anyways, but i've been amazed at some of the falls i've taken and not lost them.

i wear contacts... I dont even remember last time lossing on while wakeboarding... I'm pretty good at closing my eyes when falling...

I wore mine to see what would happen, and after a few extremely bad face plants they were still in, and I've still never lost a pair, even after being partially blinded for an hour with water behind my eye.
All I can say is, close your eyes whenever you're underwater.

GOt some of the daily wear just incase I lost them. Not a perfect correction but way better then none.

i have lost more contacts on the bathroom
floor than out riding. now i just jinxed it for
tomorrows ride, dang it !

salty87 08-19-2003 11:59 AM

i haven't lost one in 3 years but i did try riding with only 1 of 'em in....not fun! couldn't see the top of the wake heelside, no left contact.

I wear contacts and haven't lost one yet, even though some of my falls are pretty hard. What I do is I always save a couple of my old contacts just in case, but I never have had to use them yet. I don't know about other eye doc's but mine just gives me new pairs if one rips or something, I just don't like the hastle of driving out there so I keep extras.

Same thing here with me. I haven't lost any yet even after one of those dreaded eyeball peelers. *knock on wood*
ive been wearing contacts for the past two years. and in those two years i have only lost one contact and i wasnt even boarding i was swimming with my eyes open

I've lost at least 7 contacts while boarding/skiing, now I just usually go blind, but when I do wear em I got some of the daily wear so it doesnt matter.
