Hey Guys - <BR> <BR>There are a lot of threads recommending all of these camcorders. I'm trying to figure out what would be my best choice. Any of them fall into my price range. It's confusing to me as they all seem to be priced similarly. <BR> <BR>I'm looking to use this primarily for filming wakeboarding. I will be doing some editing as well (learning). I have a lot of external hard drive space, if it matters (1TB). <BR> <BR>I'd like to be able to sustain the best video quality possible while transferring to my computer. <BR> <BR>I'm hoping to get a waterproof case for this as well. <BR> <BR>Let me know if there is more info that would be helpful to know. <BR> <BR>Thanks a lot, and sorry if this is a repetitive post. with no budget go with the best. with a very tight budget the hf-100 is a very good. i found an online price of 529 about a month ago. has gone up since then, but maybe itll come back down.

So which is the best for me between HF, HG, HV? <BR> <BR>I have a budget, I'm just saying all of these are within it as they are all under $1400.

I have an HF10 and think it is the bomb. I couldn't be happier and the video is awesome. I don't even use the internal flash drive. I record on an 8G card and upload right to my Mac.

Thanks guys. After doing more research, I think I'm going to go with the HV30 or HV40. Sounds like recording on to miniDV is the way to go with regard to editing, while not losing quality. I know it takes more time to transfer onto the comp, but it sounds like it's worth it. <BR> <BR>Thanks again!

I just got a HF S100 and have been pleased so far. I really think tape is going to be a thing of the past with all the new flash technology arising.

I just got a Canon HF 100, I know I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to HD format. I'm happy with the camera...but the software it comes with is problematic. The Pixela movie software only supports -R disk format. Most everything I have is +R compatible. Can anyone recommend an alternative? Here’s a direct email…not sure if this board will notify me if someone posts a reply.
