I'm thinking about getting a slingshot board, my question is
07' Recoil board and drivers
or
08' Recoil

they're the same price, if i go with the 08 I will be putting shanes on it....
any feedback on these would be great

I just know that the 07 only can be ridden with Slingshot bindings...if they are the same price would get an 08'....but I have never ridden one yet so as far as performancee goes I can't speak on that. I too plan on copping one soon though.

its the same price for
07 board and boots = 400
08 board alone =400

i'm torn....or the byerly monarch is tempting, but pricey as hell

I'd say 08... if you hate the drivers you're stuck with em.

I second the '08 board
Unless you can try the boots on in a store somewhere to see if you really like them or not. Seems a lot of people did not prefer them. I agree they were "finiky" but i got used to them and PERSOANLLY thought they were some of the best bindings ever.

Also... just thinking last second, it would be easier to sell the board to someone else some day if you got the '08 and gave the future buyer the option to use something different binding wise.

thanks, I'll prob look into getting one today, if i can take the hit of going to orlando, 100 mile round trip at 10 mpg sucks

BTW Does anybody know who carries these in the Bay area/sacramento...Ultimate(cope) was carrying them but I guess had a feud with them at the boat show and is no longer carrying them in all their locations is what i heard. I have yet to find another place who has them, and I really want to demo before I buy.

I found the 07' setup for $300 so I think thats what I'll be going with

Quick Question for you guys. I am gonna buy a 08 Response 137 and I am wondering how my bindings are gonna work on the board cause I have the 08 answers and they have the new 6 plate. I ride with a fairly wide stance. I have always been all the way out until I got these bindings and the new Marius and now I am 1 in. I just want to know if I will have to ride with a narrower stance due to having the 6 plate or if I will be able to set up my normal stance. I know that on my slider board (old CWB) when I use my new bindings on it I have to put them 2 in and that is as far out as they will go. I don't really like the narrower stance. Also heard that I can order an adapter from cwb that will make my boot fit the 8 inch hole pattern so that may be the route I have to go.. Sorry for the long post but thank you for your help.

Nick: Norcal Mastercraft has Slingshot and you can demo them there.

Robert: I talked with the rep and I know that there is a way but not really sure how.

trickyboarder08 02-13-2008 3:57 PM

Robert - Yea, you either have to ride narrower, or get that plate.

nickdakoolkat 02-13-2008 5:00 PM

Sick, Norcal Mastercraft is out there in Pleasonton right? right off the freeway?

iukekini 02-13-2008 5:05 PM

Yeah, right off of the 580

sidekicknicholas 02-13-2008 9:15 PM

Is their any difference between 07 and 08 slingshot boards? (besides mounting holes)

nickdakoolkat 02-13-2008 9:21 PM

nope, only different graphics...
