gotwake123 11-18-2006 1:51 PM

aces6692 11-18-2006 3:08 PM

how is the pop off the wake, and is it light?

ilovelake 11-18-2006 8:36 PM

I just rode one today in a demo-day by a local nautique dealer. I dunno if it was just my day or what but I was going a lot bigger than I ever have on the other boards I've tried (watson, premier, 3ds, substance, marius). Granted, I'm a novice compared to most people on this forum, but if it can help me I see no reason why someone better couldn't benefit.. Another factor could be that I usually ride a finless 04 premier 136 dna (heavy) and the One 142 (really didn't feel that big) I rode today had monster fins on it, so maybe the length and fins just had me tracking harder into the wake? Again, I dunno if I was doing something different today, but I will say I felt comfortable trying new grabs with all the extra time I had in the air. It is undeniably lighter than most other boards and I felt like I was being launched straight up off the wake every time I cut in. Then again, only one other person on the boat (someone much better than myself) tried it and he didn't like it as much as his 06 Premier. Also, other people at the event today were saying it hasn't gotten that good of reviews, so what do I know. Anyways, that's my unbiased $.02, if you really wanna know what it's like then go demo it.

gotwake123 11-19-2006 5:47 AM

it is so light and its not a 3-stage its a five- stage witch is really cool

proho 11-19-2006 10:10 AM

Reed, do you ride behind nautiques often. Its kinda hard to compare your board to a new board when riding on a different wake. If youre used to average sized wakes, a good sized nautique wake will definitely kick you up more and give you more air time.

ronix boards are completely revolutionizing the sport. or so I was told.

aces6692 11-19-2006 11:04 AM

jonb 11-19-2006 11:25 AM

Sports Ltd in Woodland Hills has them and you can demo them. You can get a hold of them at (818)225-7433.

aces6692 11-19-2006 11:46 AM

thanx, can u rent demo them for more than a day, cuz i do weekend trips, with my friends cuz my boat is in the shop?

jonb 11-19-2006 12:32 PM

seven20 11-19-2006 1:36 PM

stephen,
funny that if you look at the specs for the one, it says "smooth 3 stage"...

ilovelake 11-20-2006 1:50 PM

proho, I was actually riding behind a Moomba on saturday, and I rode both the Ronix and my Premier a few hours apart. I definitely felt like there was a large difference, but like I said before, it could have been any combination of bigger fins, longer board, lighter, shape, etc. Whatever it was, I liked it for sure

stephan 11-20-2006 2:07 PM

I thought they had a 1080 stage rocker. On for each degree you will soon be rotating.

The shape looks interesting, I would love to demo one someday. Try out this new rocker....

i just got my ronix one setup today and it is unbelievable. it is extremely light, lighter than my roam and shane bindings together. the rocker is very interesting, definitely not typical 3-stage, but it is for sure 3 stage rocker. i'm braving the cold tomorrow so i'll let you all know how it rides and ill try to get up some pics too

fcowrx 11-29-2006 9:12 PM

josh, so how does the ronix one ride? have you ridden a watson? if so, how does it compare to that?

mrm2083 11-30-2006 8:33 AM

Francisco what do u want a ronix for your soft

fcowrx 11-30-2006 9:35 AM

so i can land 1080's while you're still recovering lmaoo.. so can anyone talk about the one in comparison to say a watson (or something similar)?

fbricard 12-02-2006 6:55 PM

Just rode the One setup (board + bindings + handle) yesterday.

I ride a Sphynx + Valhalla/Parks for comparison purposes.

I liked the handle. Didnt' hurt the hands over a long set, comfortable, good grip and decently light.

Board, rides a little like a Parks, but not as sticky, probably a Parks with 0.8" P-wings would be the best description (some friends commented it rides more like the 3DS/TFD but I haven't tried them before so can't comment). But it is stickier as compared to a Valhalla board. Pop is good and not as abrupt as the Parks. It is significantly thinner and lighter and overall the 142 didn't feel like I was riding a 142 in truth. A nice board.

Honestly though, I can't say it was a mind-blowing experience for me. Its nice, its light as a setup, but that's about it. Wasn't getting a couple of feet more air than my valhalla/Parks. Just on par.

I don't particularly like the bindings. Yes they are light. Yes the sides are foam and quite comfy, and yes its closed-toe, making hard HS edges really easy. But I found the footbed to be really stiff/hard having recently tested the Zeus/Factions and riding the Sphynx myself.

Overall, a nice time out there on the water, but not the setup for me.

hawaiianstiln 12-05-2006 11:19 AM

Rode the One, Covins and Frontier and likes-em. They are much lighter than other boards. The frontier rides extremely nice. it has speed and big pop. It brakes open a little easy, but it just depends on your riding style if you like that or not.

aces6692 12-06-2006 9:25 PM

has any one ridden the vault 139, if demoed, where at?

digger_004 12-07-2006 11:46 PM

Are you guys taking the fins off of the Ronix One? Just curious.

hawaiianstiln 12-08-2006 5:41 AM

nope

ridetillurdead26 12-10-2006 12:43 AM

Digger-i rode my ronix One for the first time ever today and you really can't take the fins off and get the same effect from the edges. i really think they have the perfect combo of fins and edges

fcowrx 12-10-2006 10:53 AM

Does the board have more of a loose feel to it or controlled?

ridetillurdead26 12-10-2006 11:08 AM

well the great thing about it is, it feels controlled when riding but its no problem to get it loose. so you dont get that locked in - omg im gunna die if i do a revert feeling.
