whats the benefit of a coated line vs. uncoated?

i thought i wrote line. but i guess not.

im talking about coated and uncoated lines

I think non coated lines will twist and coated lines will only twist on the handle attachment. Coated lines are so nice to put away. I still use my non coated once in a while and hate winding that one up.

thats what i thought. we have an uncoated one and i want to get a coated one just for that reason

thanks nick

also when you are letting it through your fingers to get to the handle in the water the coated ones just glide and the uncoated burn your hands sometimes.

uncoated ropes burn up your hands when the boat circles. some dont do it as much,

coated ropes are smooth. but if they get a nick or pinch it feels like it will cut your hand

also tough to tie off a coated line to make it shorter, first time i tried it ripped off about 3 ft of coating.

Coated lines do make it impossible to start off the swim platform on a cold day though. You can't let just yourself out, the rope slides through your hands to quickly.
