Did MC of AZ close??

Is it true or just a rumor? I know they have been struglin a bit.

scottnaz 08-14-2010 8:32 PM

No way I'd believe that rumor Steve.
MC of AZ and Century are the 2 dealers in PHX that will make it through anything, the rest will come and go.

Did you see that Malibu is going back to Marine Max?

stevev210 08-14-2010 9:01 PM

Hey Scott, Ya, i got the letter in the mail today and Dustin is the sales manager, im glad hes back in the mix. I wasnt sure if it was true or not. Hows that sac treatin ya?

scottnaz 08-14-2010 9:08 PM

Yep, my letter came today too.
Sac is wonderful, although, after installing the new 1180 sac, I came to realize my old one was 1000 lbs, not 600 like I suspected...... oh well, I use the old 1k sac as extra surf weight. All is good! We've been strickly surfing this season, I haven't even put my feet in my wakeboard yet :)

I emailed my uncle with a MC to see if he's heard anything about the dealer, and you've got me thinking about stopping in there on Monday to see what's up with Jim and the gang.

stevev210 08-18-2010 5:26 PM

MC was locked out of there building yesterday, there moveing to a different building but not sure when and where it will be.

scottnaz 08-18-2010 8:59 PM

Wow, last I heard they OWNED the new building they are in.
Really sad to see, Jim and Debbie have been a staple in the boating community of PHX for a while. I really hope they get things figured out.

Century Marine gets my business! I love every last member of that family, they changed my life!

Public Records indicates that the building was recently (7/1/2010) taken back by GE Capital Corp., the company that financed the construction loan for the building back in 2007.

They should be able to get a new building a super discount in the current market.

cccbuilders 08-19-2010 10:28 AM

i "heard" they are going back to their old building.........

scottnaz 08-20-2010 7:46 PM

MC of AZ is most definitely NOT out of the game. In a bad spot, yes, but not out.
From what I've "heard", they are getting their "ducks" re-gathered and moving to a new location. Which, from what I've heard, is not back to their old location. Unfortunately, none of us will really know for sure until they are settled in the new spot. I would have to think, with the commercial market what it is, they should be able to negotiate a pretty sweet lease on a place.

I own a Supra, but can honestly say, I have the utmost respect for what Jim and Debbie have done for the boating community over the years. Best of luck to them.
