trying to get into a boat under 10k, been looking at nautique 2001s, and a local martinique. my question is i saw this boat on boat trader and was wondering how the wake would compare to the 2001? its a 96 so no wood which is good. thanks

already posted on the2001.com but doesnt look like there is much activity there right now.

My friend has a 95, which is the same hull as the 96. It takes SO much weight and then the wake is only just ok. That hull is designed to not put out a wake. Running the same weight as we do in his 95 in my 86 and my wake is incredible. We take my boat out 95% of the time. Hang in there and find the right sn2001.

kinda what i figured, thanks

That boat looks like a nautique 176 to me.

Yup. The Ski Nautique hull changed for 1990, for better or worse depending on if you're a skier or rider. I would either look for a Sport/Super Sport (I forget what year started being a good wakeboarding hull, someone should be able to chime in on that...) or a good condition SN2001. Be prepared for more maintenance up-front on the 2001 though *cough*stringers*cough*

yea all i hear is good things about the wake on the 2001, but the wood is the downfall. pretty much a ticking time bomb, its gonna need replacing eventually, but i cant really find an older boat under 10k that can compete. ive owned a 99 pro air, 2000 mb, and a centurion elite v, just cant do the higher payments at this time or id be going for a super air 210.
