I am a heelside ninja beginner looking to progress. I have a handle hooked up in my house and feel comfortable with FS and BS handle passes. I have a history of 360s from rollerblades and snowskies (always spinning counterclockwise) and want to throw it on my wakeboard. I plan on trying HS/BS first and if that isn't working move to HS/FS. I have watched The Book on spinning but one thing I don't know is: Is there any benefit to learning 3's at a slower speed or shorter rope or should I just go out and throw it (The Book did indicate that one wake 3's may help)?

take the fins off of your board (if they are on) and do some surface 3's....after i got comfortable with those i slowed the boat to about 18 mph and did 1 wake 360s...after i landed about 5 in a row i went wake to wake and landed on my first try

Sorry Andy, but I'm going to continue the thread Trent, did you do the same for TS 3's? And if so, did you do them outside->in or inside->out?

Take a look at Shaun Murray's advise in Wakeboard Mag. on spinning. I learned all of my spins this way---even landing my first attempt wake to wake after going through all the steps--while at The Boarding School. I'm even real close on a switch toe 3 wake to wake, can do them 1 wake.

Yeah that is really good advice that Chuck gave. For a TS 3 it is more efficient in replicating the landing if you do them inside out rather than outside in. If you learn them both ways though it would be best because then you will be familiar with the take off and landing and will have already experianced them the way that they will feel when you try the trick wake to wake.

i didn't do the surface spins when i was learning ts 3's...i just went straight to 1 wake ts 3's....they were really easy to land one wake..but 2 wake took some time for me....just get 1 wake dialed down then 2 wake should eventually come
