CTI brace

I'm sure a bunch of you guys are using these Ossur CTI braces, so I wanted to get some input on upkeep and whatnot..

I just got mine yesterday (CTI OTS for ACL) and I love it. Huge step up from any knee brace I've ever had. I took it to the gym yesterday and did a few leg exercises (squat, leg press, lunges, rode the bike and ran a few miles on the treadmill) and it was fantastic. I felt like I had much more flexibly wearing it than any other, while still feeling very stable. I'm not to sure about getting it in the water though. My last brace was a DonJoy, the hinges rusted and the velcro straps wore out and in 1 year because of use in water.

Does anybody have any tips or advice for keeping this thing in tip top condition after a session on the lake? It does have velcro straps and the pads inside are like a slip resistant material that look like they will hold water, so mold and mildew are a concern.

Thanks in advance!

No concerns, used mine on both legs, for 2 yrs...just dry it before you store it, no mildew probs.
You have to put it on wet or retighten when you get in the water.
They recommend reconditioning each year to keep it current and keep the straps fully functional, mine went 2 yrs.
Be safe
