I'm new to Phoenix area. Which lakes near by are good for camping? <BR> <BR>Where are the best camp sites and/or best places to camp out on the shore? <BR> <BR>Since I'm new to the desert, any advice dealing with all the desert critters?

We loved camping at Apache Lake. It is remote, few other boats or people, tons of glass and great views. We took along regular camping gear and lots of water. As far as critters we didn't have any problems. Be careful where you hike and watch for ant mounds when you are setting up camp. <BR> <BR>There is a little hotel there with a restaurant if you need some civilization.
