Has anyone rode both the Sub IV and Marek and can you comment on their differences? Thanks.

JKW my son has ridden both, likes the Marek better, fast, lots of Pop & lands soft. 1st and 2nd in pro men's & 1st in Jr. men's at Worlds were all riding the Marek.

Thanks for the info. Actually, didn't Jimmy ride the 09 Sub IV at worlds? That's what he had on the podium.

Can anyone give me any actual differences on how the boards feel on the water? I can't imagine the Marek can be much faster than the Sub IV. I know the Marek is a little wider, so that may help with pop a little. Does the Marek have a center spine to make the landings softer like the Sub IV?

JKW, I didn't go to Worlds so I don't know what he rode there, but this is a shot from the Pro Team Challenge last month on the Marek

Randy,

No worries. I knew he rode it some this year. Either way it's not a big deal. Just wanting to hear the differences.

I have both and ride both from time to time. I spend the majority of my time on the Marek and if I get into a funk i usually fall back onto the sub 6 as i have always loved that shape. (Pulse 3DS)

The Marek IS faster Poppier and about the same grip to the water. The SUB is obviously lighter and it has a lot more flex.

Really you could go either way if your looking to buy a new board you be please with either of them. The SUB 6 09 Graphics are insane compared to the marek in my mind!

But there is a lot to be said for the Marek when Jimmy and Rathy both took this board on as their primary board also both coming from the Premier.

Hope that helps!

after watching the worlds and the trip that murray held it looks like jimmy is back on the sub 6

Are you guys riding the Marek with the stock 1" fins? If so, how loose is the board? I am used to a pretty loose board. If you are not using the stock fins, what fins are your riding it with? Thanks
