what should a new/reman short block go for? <BR>92 chevy merc direct drive <BR> <BR>engine cost ... <BR>labor cost ... <BR>mental anguish ... <BR> <BR>anything else that needs/should be replaced @ the same time engine is out?

should be about $500-650 if you shop around. I would highly suggest a 4 bolt main

thx...but that's just for the short block, right? <BR> <BR>do you know what it would be (approx) for the labor to re-assemble &amp; then install????

sorry, got distracted apparently... oops <BR>engine= 500-650 <BR>labor= 250-450 <BR>mental= 5-10 nights with little or no sleep <BR>satisfaction after the fact= priceless
