Is anyone else like me wishing CC would bring back the original Super Air Nautique because of it's wake production efficiency? <BR> <BR>Its strange how CC had the basis for the best boat in the world and continued to mess with it in the strangest ways (funky seats; funky gauges; funky towers) before finally eliminating it all together. <BR> <BR>IMO, if you simply put a sensible interior and a stylish swoop tower on the old SAN hull, you would have the best wakeboard boat in the world today. <BR> <BR>Agree? Disagree?

kylenautique 09-16-2008 3:43 PM

I agree. Best looking boat ever! The wake is amazing. If they put the dash from a 03 on the hull of a 2001 SAN (so you get the cool N in the gel coat) with the flight control 2 tower or skylon swoop classic, I would buy it. The Original SAN is simple, looks awesome and is the best boat ever in my opinion.

zirb3l 09-16-2008 3:46 PM

Not a big fan of the swoop tower but i would take an 03 SAN ANY day!

trippin132 09-16-2008 4:01 PM

i would like them see do something like malibu do with the ride series... <BR>take the old hull and just make it the entry level boat...

kylenautique 09-16-2008 4:08 PM

That would be cool. I just saw a new X1 all black with white decals, tinted black windows last night. It looked sick! Nautique should bring it the original 210 back the same way MC makes the X-1.

grant_west 09-16-2008 4:24 PM

Yea: I agree with GD. IMO the orignal 02 and 03 SAN's are the best wake machine out there. I like the 02 because of the FORD GT40, but the 03 had the fiberglass swim deck and the analog gauges with the last year for a colord deck so it's a toss up. Harrold's 02 all blue SAN and Sam's all black 03 SAN are Bad A$$. And Yes the orignal FCT flight control tower works awesome. I fold my tower each and every night when I put my boat away (by myself) so Im so glad my boat has this tower best tower Nautique has made IMO. You ask why did they change??? People saying Nautiques were out dated and they needed to change. IMO it was only a few years ago let's say 4 <BR>when every other boat maker was comming out with a new bigger longer pickel fork model and everyone was saying Nautique need's to update and come out with some new boats Bla Bla Bla. Shortley there after you saw the New Nautique 211 and Nautiques other Bayliner models. IMO if it aint broke don't fix it. The wet surface on the SAN is/was awesome. Yes the orignal interior needed more room the boat's interior didn't make great use of all the avalable space.Stock wireing was a JOKE. But the boat was solid as hell and made a great wake with stock balast. I still think they are one of the greatest wake boat's out there the orignal SAN. Yea the new boat's have way more room and all the fancy do hickys, But with longer and wider beams all the wake boats became harder to drive and cost more to do the same thing throw a great wake. The trend seemd bigger longer more room. I wonder how many people that sold their orignal SAN's for a new bigger more current gas sucking boats boat are kicking them self's as they drive around in a huge boat with 1 or 2 people

hatepain 09-16-2008 4:45 PM

As wakes go they are awesome. Not to wide, steep with a lot of pop and it didn't take much weight to get it there. But G is right they waist space on the interior by not wrapping the seats all the way around so it cost seating and storage. Also about the wiring he's dead on they often use to small of gauge wires in some pretty damn important spots. Another thing that bugs me is how the whole seat comes up when you access the port side storage. At the end of the day it's an awesome boat, wake and reliability.

wakereviews 09-16-2008 5:06 PM

Hate, I loved that feature on my SAN. The seat coming up... so that is personal. <BR> <BR>And if they brought the boat back, couldn't all those issues be addressed?

seth 09-16-2008 5:46 PM

Yep, I love my 01 SAN. I like the fact that there is no wrap around because it is a perfect spot to keep a cooler out of the way. After I install a custom ballast system in it this winter, I dont see myself getting anything else, except maybe an Epic, as im all about the wake!

deuce 09-16-2008 5:47 PM

I say this with all sincerity, hope they never bring it back.....or at least until I decide I don't want mine anymore......<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626895.jpg" alt="Upload">

wakeboardsam 09-16-2008 7:01 PM

The best thing about the SAN is the fact that you can get that awesome wake and still have fuel economy. I could go twice as long on one tank of gas, which was smaller by the way, than I can go with my VLX..

batman 09-16-2008 7:05 PM

EJ, awesome looking boat! I am always amazed as to why they mess with the best until it's not as good. Sometimes staying ahead of the game sacrifices effeciency. Too many gadgets, too much digital crap, too many gauges. I always wonder why they need a gauge to tell you ballast is full? When mine started spitting water out the side, she's full!!!

rvh3 09-16-2008 7:17 PM

Yah, <BR>And my gauges are half way correct at best! They work every once in a while.

gramps- <BR> <BR>That boat is so sick, if I were you I would never get rid of the boat!!

martinique 09-16-2008 8:02 PM

This is how they should bring them back....an 03 with a Titan II tower with 3K of ballast. No one ever complained about my wake <BR> <BR> <BR>you can not beat the wake to fuel ratio even with ballast! <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/626964.jpg" alt="Upload">

09-16-2008 8:13 PM

agree these boats are simply sick.

eaglejackson 09-16-2008 8:30 PM

They sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

sidekicknicholas 09-16-2008 8:55 PM

95 Supersport is still a better wake than anything i've been on besides an epic. <BR> <BR>AMAZING! <BR> <BR>It has been and always will be THE GREATEST WAKEBOARD BOAT EVER <BR> <BR>Ballast to Wake ratio is amazing. <BR> <BR>I love the SANTE

kickflip_mj 09-16-2008 8:59 PM

i always thought they should take the boat and make it bigger evenly all around untill its a 23 ft.. more ballest and bigger engine and that would be the @#$^

09-16-2008 9:48 PM

i disagree mike. with just a little weight in the san you have a great wake like nick said the ballast to wake ratio on these boats is awesome. a larger boat would need more ballast and a bigger engine and suck more gas. i think more boats(wakes) would be better if the boats were shorter with smaller beam widths

ralph 09-16-2008 9:59 PM

I agree with alan, that hull is perfect. Make it close bow push the windscreen forward and shorten up the sun deck little to open up the cabin, full wrap interior with twin 1000 pound tanks either side. Job done. Perfect

bjeremi 09-17-2008 6:21 AM

Negative on the close bow. I realize that would open up the cabin some but I like the idea of having it open. Just my opinion though. Love that boat. You guys should do a 210 only pride thread.

rvh3 09-17-2008 6:23 AM

Open Bow is a must in my opinion.

downfortheride 09-17-2008 6:54 AM

Long live the 210! Nothing better than stock weight and a super rampy wake! <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/627115.jpg" alt="Upload">

gymboarder 09-17-2008 7:11 AM

I agree with everyone. I definately think the 210 is a great boat and produces a great wake. Im also right there wit E.J. I hope they decide to make it again after I have lost the love of mine. I have the 04 so it has that funky tower but I can live with it. Its pretty amazing to me how these boats are still getting the looks at the lake. I always get the nice looking compliment from people. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/627124.jpg" alt="Upload">

alans 09-17-2008 7:52 AM

Don't sell them, nor am I starting a boat war. I wish they would bring back the old hull also. <BR> <BR>These quotes just reminded me of the little MB.. <BR> <BR> " IMO, if you simply put a sensible interior and a stylish swoop tower on the old SAN hull, you would have the best wakeboard boat in the world today." <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>"i agree, but would also add that instead of 900lbs of stock ballast, make it 2500lbs. i disagree with the closed bow too. ive had way too much fun up there!! actually i think the open bow offers alot of seating i commonly have two or three people in the front, if it was closed and the interior redesigned could an additional 3 people sit in the back?? I dunno? also would the weight be distributed to far back?

kickflip_mj 09-17-2008 9:20 AM

i only say a bigger boat becuase we have sacked out a 210 to the max and its a huge wake but wouldnt it be nicer even bigger... now that is the question.. and besides the boat moves so much with a rider behind it.

jon4pres 09-17-2008 10:02 AM

It says something about a company when 2 of their best wakes ever 210 and 2001 were neither made to be wake boats. They spend $$$$ to create wake boats and they dont stack up against their accidents. <BR> <BR>I heard someone who was from CC in orlando telling a customer that "Correct Craft had to be progressive or they would get left behind again."

greatdane 09-17-2008 10:21 AM

Ya, CC management is just nuts in my opinion. <BR> <BR>They were the best by accident and the worst by intention. <BR> <BR>All those funky changes leading up to the worst of all -- the elimination of the original SAN -- the best wake platform the world has ever seen is tossed aside.

sidekicknicholas 09-17-2008 10:30 AM

the maloons(s.p.) are out of CC now....maybe things will change, for the better... <BR> <BR>They left and are running a MC dealer now, how about that

jon4pres 09-17-2008 10:59 AM

What it all comes down to is that CC wants to make $$$$ and selling a small boat with little storage and a sick wake does not sell to the kind of people who can afford wakeboats. The people who they are marketing will care much more about gadgets, bling, comfort, and looking cool. <BR> <BR>Hopefully Epic will make a 20 or 21 footer that will do what the old SAN did.

greatdane 09-17-2008 11:11 AM

Jon, I would agree with you when gas was $2 per gallon. At $4 to $5 per gallon, its all going to change. <BR> <BR>BTW, the old 21' SAN is a huge boat. It could easily have lots of storage if they had half a brain.

grant_west 09-17-2008 1:19 PM

Hey how about this instead of complaining about how they should re-make the orignal 210. Why dosen't someone buy up all the used 210's and re-fresh them and do all the up grades everyone is talking about and re sell them. WOW you could make Million's <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR>I bet if Nautique came out with a new version of the orignal 210 everyone would look at it and say "Its to small" and "No Storage" <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> what was Nautique thinking. Look at GM They thought big Truck's and SUV's were the way to go. As soon as the gas price's started going up everyone is pointing fingers at GM saying how stupid they were for investing or building what everyone was/is asking for. I think the same is true here. The saying if you build it they will come does not apply here IMO. Im guessing there's a bunch of SAN owners looking to trade in there Orignal 210's for newer bigger boat's. Hurry go swoop them up.

nauti4life 09-17-2008 1:34 PM

The bottom line is you can't go wrong with a Nautique. New or old!!!

canucked 09-17-2008 1:48 PM

if you can sell a boat for $80K why sell one for $40K <BR> <BR>The people making money for these companies are the "family man" guys. <BR> <BR>If an average joe went to a boat show without any prior knowledge of wakeboard boats etc. what catches there eye? (besides the giant seadoo boat) <BR> <BR> <BR>Not the SAN 210 <BR> <BR>(PS I love my nautique)

flux 09-17-2008 1:55 PM

Hey CC, here's a hint: <BR> <BR><font color="ff0000"><font face="arial,helvetica"><font size="+2">COLORED DECKS!!!</font></font></font>

innov8 09-17-2008 2:32 PM

How about you have no clue Nick, that's not even close bro, you are waaaay off. <BR>As far as the Meloon's running an MC dealer that's just funny, wrong again!!

sidekicknicholas 09-17-2008 3:01 PM

I'm pretty sure thats how things went down <BR> <BR>Billy get on here and set the record straight

sidekicknicholas 09-17-2008 3:13 PM

"Bill Doggen is now the majority share holder of Correct Craft after buying several shares of the company from one of the Meloons about six months ago. He and Walt Meloon (owner of SECC) do not get a long very well. About a week and a half ago, Correct Craft Corp. sent SECC a letter informing them that they are no longer a Correct Craft Dealer. They have about 60+ boats that they are making deals on now. For those of us that live in Orlando have have a Correct Craft, the only "authorized dealer" is now in Lake Wales and is about 50+plus miles away. "

sidekicknicholas 09-17-2008 3:16 PM

"There is surfacing information that there's a new majority owner of Correct Craft and that it is no longer the world's oldest family owned boat manufacturer. Apparently it was a very surprised sell out that occurred about 3-4 weeks ago, especially to Walt Meloon who was 49% owner. The other 51% were other family that sold out. <BR>"

innov8 09-17-2008 4:03 PM

Nick I know everything going on with CC, I am a CC dealer. <BR>There is a big difference between selling off the Majority of CC and selling out and being out of CC. <BR>The Meloon's still own a very large percentage of CC, so they are not out of CC. <BR>Yes SECC will no longer be the Nautique dealer, there is a new Nautique dealer opening up at OWC, But the Meloon's are not opening a Mastercraft Dealership. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by innov8 on September 17, 2008)

to_blind 09-17-2008 4:45 PM

ralph 09-19-2008 1:30 AM

Have you looked at the V215's GD? IMO they combine whats good about the pre 05 VLX &amp; the pre 07 210

greatdane 09-19-2008 1:42 AM

The Sanger V215? Does it build a wake as easily as the 210? I know the Sanger 210 builds a nice wake but I know little about the 215.

liquidmx 09-19-2008 8:12 AM

I have ridden behind a V215 a few times. Its a really nice boat. I agree that its definitely a combination of the vlx and san. It takes a little more weight to get a big wake but also has more interior space as the trade off.
